Publisher's summary

In Molly Harper's witty new paranormal romance, a rare-book expert is delivering a package to Half-Moon Hollow when her plane goes down, and a sexy vampire comes to her rescue. He's clearly got ulterior motives, but does he want to date her...or devour her?

Delivering a rare book to a valued customer is definitely part of mild-mannered archivist Anna Whitfield's job description. You know what isn't? Protecting her precious cargo from midflight theft by the very pilot who is flying her to Half-Moon Hollow...while trying to appear as unappetizing as possible to the only other passenger, a vampire. Undead bookstore owner Jane Jameson could be waiting a very long time for her book. Possibly forever.

Fortunately, Anna's dashing fanged companion, Finn Palmeroy, helps her fend off the attack but not before their plane crash-lands in the forest hundreds of miles from civilization. Great, now she's stranded with a priceless tome and a rakish vampire whose bedtime is fast approaching. Why does everyone want this book so badly, anyway? Anna just wants to get it to Jane before Finn decides to turn her into dinner - or sweep her off her feet.

Okay, the second option is really tempting. But they're not out of the woods yet....

Great Book

Love the story! Molly Harper is a great author but she needs to find a different narrator. The narrator Amanda Harper makes it hard to get through the book but the story itself is so good I was able to push through Amanda’s narration. I have 2hrs left on another one of Molly’s books but I dread having to listen to Amanda for 2 more hours. I just really dislike Amanda’s as the narrator. If Amanda is the narrator for all the books I’ll probably just have to get the hard copies to read.

Loving this series! Great narrator!

A fun addition to the series! It took me waaaay too long to remember why "Finn Palmeroy" sounded so gosh darn familiar, though (thank you, Who's Who in Moon Hollow on Molly Harper's website!). The excerpts from Where the Wild Things Bite: A Survival Guide to Camping with the Undead were, as usual, spot-on, and possums were used to spectacular (and horrifying) effect not once, but twice here. Amanda Ronconi did her usual spectacular job of narrating--once again, I was actively looking for excuses to keep listening.

Only complaint? Anna could have made Finn grovel just a little more at the end. I'm all for their HEA, but gosh darn it, she forgave him just a teensy bit quicker than he deserved.

How soon until Ben's book, again? ;)

Wait--next year? Sigh...

Vampires in the Wild

This was an amazing read and listen. It's my first book by this author and I didn't have any trouble following it so you don't have to read them in order. I would like to know more about Jane though because she seems like a hoot! I just loved the characters. The narrator for the audiobook is wonderful. I wasn't sure about her voice at first but it didn't take long to know she was excellent. She can do any voice and accent. I was especially laughing about how perfect the back woods accent was, not in a making fun way but in its real because I live in the country and mountains of western NC and we sound kind of like this. So everything seemed so real listening to it. The hero was just like described in one part, an overgrown toddler. Lol but the heroine was able to really keep him in line and didn't take any crap. I can't wait to read more of this series!

Another fun story !

Great author + great narrator = highly enjoyable listening experience. I really like the new characters, but it was really nice to have a brief visit with familiar favorites too. Looking forward to the next Half-Moon Hollow adventure with Jane Jameson & friends.

Great as always!

I love all her books & Amanda is a great narrator!

The only thing I didn't care for was Jeb's voice. I don't remember him sounding like that in his book & in this one he sounds like a dork!

What can I say?

What made the experience of listening to Where the Wild Things Bite the most enjoyable?

Amanda Ronconi's narration and the snarky comments that are ever-present in Molly Harper's writing.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Tough question. I had a little trouble getting into the story until about halfway through. Once it got past Anna's whining, I enjoyed it. (That could just be my hang-up, though.)

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Always excellent! She's very good at keeping the characters' voices consistent from one book to the next.

Any additional comments?

As always, the character Dick Cheney greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the book. Toward the end when Anna starts kicking butt and taking names, I had a constant smile on my face! Nice visit to Half Moon Hollow.

I just can't get enough!

I love the author and performer of the entire series. Molly is one of my favorite authors and I watch for more books from her weekly. Amanda is someone I search out when it comes to performance. This team takes you into a different world where you fall in love with each and every character. The story in this one does not fall short in any way. I found the characters and the plot so good that I didn't put the book down until it was (practically) done. I hope there are more books to come.
