Publisher's Summary

His music could have made Damien Cantwell the star of his generation. But living fast has its consequences, and Damien soon finds himself spiraling into a dark world full of unfettered debauchery and brutal violence. The horrors of drug addiction are painted in sharp, biting prose in this novel about throwing away everything and finding that some things are too precious to lose.

No redeeming value

Looking at the other reviews, I guess I'm the only reader who found nothing of value in this book. The author sounds like a teenaged dropout whose sole purpose in life is to eat, snort and inject every mind-altering drug he could get his hands on, by whatever means necessary. I read many books in this genre and find the authors usually have a keen wit despite the self-absorption that goes hand-in-hand with addiction. Many incidents the author describes stretch credibility to the limit, for example, when the police stop a car full of drugged to the max young people, one of whom is dead, Damien scares them away by telling them his dad is a high-powered attorney! Really? The story seems to me, to be a vehicle for describing explicit sexual acts, including child pornography and the myriads of ways drugs can be ingested, with the bare-bones of a storyline to give it some structure. I'm in a minority of one or maybe two people to give this book a bad review. Maybe it's me, what am I missing?

Insane

This book had me cringing almost the entire time with the amount of detail the author went into. Beautifully sad and twisted love story. Totally recommend it.
