Publisher's summary

An earthquake shook more than the ground in Silverpines, Oregon.

A silver-mine cave-in and lumber-camp mudslide caused a shortage of young men in town. Women were saddled with running businesses and ranches alone. Laura Bennett, owner of White Oaks ranch, sends for a mail-order husband.

Max Winters lost the love of his life, Catherine, to another man, so he decides to answer Laura's ad. Since his true love was gone, he'd settle for a good partnership and a new life. He travels to Silverpines and is met with a beautiful bride and her adorable daughter, but also many trials and setbacks.

Will they overcome the tribulations and truly fall in love even after Catherine shows up as a widow?

WONDERFUL PERIOD ROMANCE

Loved this! Wanted: Horse Breeder is a nice romantic story about a lady, Laura Bennett. After losing her husband, she sends for a mail-order husband and along comes Max Winters, a man who's lost his love to another man, answers the ad. It's a sweet romantic story about their trials and tribulations, and one I very much enjoyed. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, wholesome romantic period story. Well done! Loved both writing/story and narration :)

Great voice for this genre!

What a fun scenario / book premise! I wish Max had a bit more self esteem, but otherwise an interesting and entertaining book!

The audiobook was great! I had a hard time distinguishing characters by voice in two short scenes. But other wise very well done.
I love this author and will be sure to look for more books by this narrator as well! Even better if they’re together again! The narrator’s voice was a wonderful pick for this genre!

Wonderful!

This was a reversal of a mail-order bride story. It was short, sweet and very enjoyable to listen to. The characters were well developed, likable and believable. The combination of a good western romance and a wonderful narration kept me finding reasons to listen longer. Goss and Holly are a great combination and they turned out a wonderful audio book!

Sweet Mail Order Husband Story

This was a very sweet change up on the Mail-order bride plot. I loved that the author kept it a clean, Christian romance. The story was entertaining and I finished it quickly. The narrator did a lovely job with the acting and story telling. I would recommend this one to those who enjoy a good clean romance set in the 1800's.

Great Read

Wanted: Horse Breeder (Silverpines #2) was a great read by Barbara Goss. Due to an earthquake in April 1899, there was a mine cave-in that caused many deaths and injuries. Laura is looking for a husband who can also breed horses. Max is looking to leave his hometown and finds the perfect solution with Laura. I cant wait to read more by Barbara Goss.

Second chancea

I loved this book. Laura's husband was killed and she needed someone to breed horses. She sent for a mail order husband. Laura had a four year old daughter who was having a hard time with the loss of her husband. Strong characters and great story of finding love.I was given a copy and this is my honest review.

A Mail Order Husband?

Maxwell is so upset that Catherine married another man and not him. He decided to answer an add to marry a woman in Oregon and left his home in Texas.

Laura had lost her husband to death and put an add in the papers for a husband, when she accepted Max he took a train to Oregon.

Now what happens when they meet each other? Will they really decide to marry or would they find they weren't right for each other?

Trouble came to White Oaks Ranch.....What kind of trouble? Who was causing all the problems?

Laura had a daughter, would Carolyn (carro) accept Maxwell, or fight having her mother marry him? How would Max take to Carro? Could he treat her as his own daughter?

I loved this story, it was sweet and beautifully written and the narrator also made it a story worth listening to. I recommend that you should get this book or Audiobook to read or listen to yourself.
