Totally Different for me

Shiori is a Domme which makes Knox a submissive...WOWZA! I didn't think it would matter, but honestly it did. I hate that this sounds sexist because I'm not, but I LOVE a great Alpha male! Their arrangement was supposed to be that she was in charge in the bedroom but he was everywhere else. She never respected that. They were together, which was good, but there was so much back and forth with the relationship and confused or blurred lines I found it frustrating. The writing in and of itself was good, just wasn't the story for me.

Romance, Action, & Light BDSM

Good story-line, didn't want to put it down when I needed to get some sleep.
Great author, I have enjoyed the whole series so far.
Okay narrators, not my favorites, but certainly not so bad you that you can't listen to the story.
This book continues at the Black Arts Dojo and has MMA training and fights. The BDSM side is shifted to a Domme & Submissive's journey/discovery of their sexual needs and desires. Definitely has detailed intimacy sprinkled throughout.

I didn't see that coming

Wow. I didn't see that spin coming in book one or two. You knew these two would get together - there was too much love / hate sparking going on. I didn't expect this spin, but it worked.

Only One Word. FANTASTIC! I Love this story, well written, exciting, intriguing and so much more.

not my favorite story

Narrator was great but this particular story wasn't my favorite from the series. But still good just not great

I admit, I didn't like this series when I listened to the first book. I didn't realize that it was more about the art of the 'B' in BDSM rather than traditional roles of D/S. Once I figured that out, I had to give the second book a try and am really glad I did. The relationship between Shiori and Knox transitions from detesting to loving in a very credible way. Hard to do. The internal struggle of a man's need to be strong and dominant for himself- and to discover how that actually translates to a completely loving and giving relationship is so well written. Ms James has done it again. Now I'm sitting here waiting for the next instalment of my new passion, her 'Mastered' series.

A difficult journey!

Knox and She had to work through a lot of self discovery before they could iron out their relationship. I can really understand why a man with submissive tendencies would struggle to accept that dynamic, with the stereotype of submissive must mean weak. My personal feeling is that, because of society’s gender role expectations, a submissive heterosexual male, would need to be extremely secure in his masculinity to even consider a D/s relationship. This book made the transition seem a lot easier than it likely would be, but hey, this is romance.

This story’s timeline is supposed to be running parallel to the timeline of the novella of Ronin’s and Avery’s trip to Japan, therefore, they are only included in the conclusion of the book.

I wasn’t real happy with how how the politics ended, at the Black Arts Dojo, but I suppose that the author has her reasons.

I also didn’t like these narrators as much as the previous two. The masculine voices weren’t strong enough to suit the characters, in my opinion.
Overall, I did enjoy the book and have enjoyed this series, thus far.

Wow

This is my first time reading a dominant submissive role reversal where the man is submissive. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it and afraid that the story and characters would be butchered. But from start to finish Lorelei James captures everything amazing perfectly as usual. I as usual fell in love with the two main characters in the first to bound stories. And even deeper in love with this storyline. I say if you love Lorelei's stories like I do and are willing to experience something different then give this one a try I am a champion of this book and of this writer.

Sweet, Sexy and Hot!

I enjoyed this book actually more than the first three books in this series, but they are all good. Hardcore Knox is really a kitten down deep inside and the hard Shiori has a soft side and a sad side. We find out a lot about both of them in this story. There are also hints of future couples, we know Molly and Deacon will be the featured couple in the next and hopefully NOT the final book of the series.
I enjoyed having two narrators in my first listen, I did prefer the male to the female, but now that I'm listening again, I like her just as well. I don't want to give any secrets away, but there is a surprise towards the end of the book for those of us who enjoy other series Ms. James writes. I loved every minute of this sweet, sexy and hot story.

Definitely my favorite book out of the series so far!! And the first 2 books were really good!
