Publisher's summary

This program is read by the author.

When former Ohio governor John Kasich ran for president, his powerful message of hope and togetherness struck a chord with American voters. In Two Paths: America Divided or United, he carries that message forward by reflecting on the tumultuous 2016 campaign, sharing his concerns for America and his hopes for our future, and sounding a clarion call to reason and purpose, humility and dignity, righteousness and calm.

“The country never looked so grand and magnificent as it did from ten thousand feet,” he writes of his time on the campaign trail, “and it was always a thrilling, faith-affirming thing to look out our window and see the sun splashing across Bryce Canyon in Utah, or the lights of the New York skyline at night as we flew past the Statue of Liberty, or an open field in the heartland that ran as far as our eyes could see.... I’d look out and think what an honor it would be to lead this great nation, what a blessing.”

To be sure, the full story of the 2016 Presidential race will be written over time, but to understand what it was to be on the front lines of one of the most divisive and corrosive campaign battlegrounds in history, listeners won’t find a richer, more thoughtful firsthand account than this one - a frank, refreshing assessment of the American dynamic and a clear path we might follow toward a more promising tomorrow.

As former governor Kasich reminds us in these pages, America is great because America is good - and because Americans have stayed true to who we are: one nation, under God, indivisible.

Hoped for action items

I had hoped for more info on how we get back to where we all want to be as a nation not a play by play of his life. He's a good man, just thought the book would be about the future and not the past.

Lifting My Head Up

The 2016 Presidential election and the first 100 days of the new presidency have been very disappointing to me. As a Vietnam era veteran, born in Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University I wascraised with values similar to Governor Kasich. His thoughts, ideas and values remind me that Ametica is great and we all have a responsibility to maintain and enhance that greatness.

The Truth

This book is very truthful and inspiring. If John Kasich was president the country would be doing better.

A Liberal’s Take

I wanted to reach across the aisle for my next book - this book didn’t disappoint. He didn’t convince me on any policy initiatives but I felt connected to his stories about his family and the campaign. I appreciate his take on our current political climate. It’s worth a listen for everyone!

Life of illusion

First I'll say that Kasich, to me, was the best Republican in the race. Also, I would have voted for Kasich over Hillary. But, I've lived in Toledo, Ohio all of my life. 58 years to be exact. Toledo is a wasteland. Toledo has been destroyed by "Trickle Down Economics". We've lost over 40,000 in population in the last 10 years. Toledo has nothing to offer. It's because of the lack of investment in our people. Although Kasich is not an extremist, He is still part of the problem.
