Publisher's summary

It's no coincidence when Grace Elland finds a vodka bottle next to the lifeless body of her boss, motivational speaker Sprague Witherspoon. The bottle is a terrifying - and deliberate - reminder of the horrors of her past. Grace retreats to her hometown to regroup and tries to put everything she's learned about positive thinking into practice - a process that is seriously challenged on the world's worst blind date. Awkward doesn't begin to describe her evening with venture-capitalist Julius Arkwright. She has nothing in common with a man who lives to make money, but the intense former Marine does have some skills that Grace can use - and he's the perfect man to help her when it becomes clear she is being stalked. As Witherspoon's financial empire continues to crumble around them, taking a deadly toll, Julius will help Grace step into her past to uncover a devious plan to destroy not only Grace, but everyone around her.

Painful narration

Would you try another book from Jayne Ann Krentz and/or Amanda Cobb?

Would try another Krentz book. I loved her book, River Road, and was looking forward to more of her books but this one was disappointing. I may have liked it better if it was narrated by someone else. I won't listen to anymore books narrated by Amanda Cobb. I couldn't wait to finish this book because her narration was terrible. Unrealistic, unnatural, affected narration of dialog. Does Amanda Cobb think people sound like that when they talk? I'm surprised whoever produced this performance thought it was acceptable. If I were the author, I'd be insulted.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jayne Ann Krentz again?

Yes, if Amanda Cobb didn't narrate.

Would you be willing to try another one of Amanda Cobb’s performances?

Never

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, some good dialog

Another good romantic suspense.

4.5 stars
Seven reasons why this was a worthwhile use of a credit at Audible.

Excellent narration, Amanda Cobb again did a superb job and made it all a very easy listen.

A set of mysterious circumstances all entwined and linked.

Grace - a charming character who doesn't deserve her life to be turned into the turmoil that happens when she discovers a body. And it's not the first one. She already has nightmares. Grace though is intelligent, talented and mostly positive, she has been the reason why her dead boss has made such an impact.

Julius - while Grace doesn't appreciate the blind date her friends set her up with, it turns out Julius might be the one for Grace. Julius is a successful businessman - nothing bad about that!

Little surprises along the way. Trust the title of the book - Trust No One, that's Julius' little motto and in this case he's on the money.

At the final resolution when the cavalry arrives the women have it all in hand.

Oh yeah!It has a happy ever after. - "Love Changes Everything".

Disappointing

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I had real problems with this reading; I couldn't like the characters as portrayed. The narration sounded stilted with poor inflection, it was hard to discern between characters, and worst of all, most of the characters came across as whiny. Couldn't wait for it to be over.

It was just ok

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The narration of the book was lacking. The main female character came off as really whinny. I don't know if it was the narrators voice or the way she was reading it, but it left me disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love Mrs Krentz books, this one just didn't hit the mark.

Very good book....glad to see her switch gears!

I am glad I took the chance and got this book. I have really grown tired of the Arcane series and to an extent the Rainshadow series. This book is a complete standalone - straight romantic-suspense. Loved it!

great listen

Would you consider the audio edition of Trust No One to be better than the print version?

either one would be good

What other book might you compare Trust No One to and why?

i dunno

Have you listened to any of Amanda Cobb’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

its my first audio book, and i loved this gal's voice, and the way she changed tones and inflections, it was very riveting, and i love jayne ann krentz's sense of humor, and this gal got it all operfectly

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

the way something would happen and she would say Breath, and you autmatically knew that was an internal thought

Any additional comments?

very enjoyable

Thin very thin....cheesy

Wow. Ive read lots of these but this author needs a better editor. Way too long and very thin. what should have been intense was cheesy. Narration so perky it drove me nuts. Very glad when I finished it I think I've been spoiled by the JD ROBB and Nora Roberts suspense books. Hard not to compare.
