Publisher's Summary

Whinchat is a nostalgic reminiscence of a long-ago bucolic vacation that awakened a life-long interest in nature. Skilfully written and self-narrated by Phillip J. Mather, the tale will strike a chord with birdwatchers and nature lovers alike, and will remind all of gentler times in 1950’s England.

Wonderful childhood reminisces.

What made the experience of listening to Whinchat the most enjoyable?

It was just like the author was sitting beside me, and I thoroughly enjoyed his wonderful reminiscing's of summer holidays when he was a boy.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the way that when listening to the story is catapulted me back in time to my childhood holidays in England, and especially the way that life was so much simpler, and better (in my opinion) than it is today. No iPods and tablets for the children, back then, just beaches, dogs and the freedom to use your imagination to explore!

Which character – as performed by Phillip J. Mather – was your favorite?

Simply himself, it was a joy to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I couldn't really pinpoint one, I just loved listening to the whole story.

Any additional comments?

Wonderful memories of a time sadly passed.
