A Lifetime to Get Here: San Miguel de Allende, the first in a series of two, was created from the author’s almost-daily blogs about visiting San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, for increasing amounts of time and in different seasons, spanning winter 2009 to the conclusion of 2012. The culmination of those years was the sale of her house in her fourth-generation hometown of Philadelphia and her permanent settlement in Mexico.

She would join her 21-year-old daughter on a once-in-a-lifetime walk across Spain called El Camino de Santiago. While Tracy’s trek along the 500 miles of this ancient Catholic pilgrimage began as a mother-daughter adventure, Tracy soon realized this was her Camino, a journey of profoundly personal insight and spiritual growth.

The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

New Hampshire features Frost's meditations on rural life, love, and death, delivered in the voice of a soft-spoken New Englander. Critics have long marveled at the poet's gift for capturing the speech of the region's natives and his realistic evocations of the area's landscapes. This compilation, first published in 1923, earned Frost the first of his four Pulitzer Prizes and includes several of his best-known poems: "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", "Nothing Gold Can Stay", and "Fire and Ice".

Very American pragmatic: no history nor architecture
Can’t call itself a guide. Maybe a couple of quickly put together hints of where the author hanged with his friends. Also very american in the approach.
