This is the tale of two people who quit their jobs, packed up and stored all of their belongings, and rode 10-speed bicycles across the North American continent, pedaling though North America and British Columbia. Horrible, horrible narration

I'm usually a bit skeptical about authors narrating their own works. This is a reinforcing example of that skepticism. I was eager to hear the story, but had to surrender to the narration after 30 minutes and return this. Perhaps I can get the Kindle edition.

Steve does a remarkable job at narrating his story. I listened straight through. Didn’t want it to be over.

Awsome

Audio was a little quiet but the narration was excellent and the adventure of the trail sounded like an amazing experience

amazing story!

great way of living a unique adventure on a bike. A good example of how to persuade goals and realise about life meaning. Amazing story más some background noises while performing.

Inspiring, sincere, but sounds a bit too gritty

I chose this book because I've gone on some bike tours and hope to complete the Trans America trail this summer. That's the the same trail that the author rode with his wife, Cindy. One of the best parts of this audio book was it's gritty sincerity. You feel like you're one of the many great people who met Steve and Cindy, took care of them, and heard their wonderful stories--the good, the bad, the ugly, and the wonderful. But the grittiness of the audio book sometimes went too far. At times in the audio book, you can clearly hear background noises, such as thunderstorms, sirens, and more. For the most part, I enjoyed the the voice and style of Steve, who read the book, but after a few hours of listening to it, I wanted a more professional reader. Those readers have a wide range of vocal styles to clarify subtle, funny, and powerful moments. Steve is a good writer, but his speaking style is primarily a powerful sound to a more powerful sound. Having said all this, I enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone whose interested in cycling, low-cost travel, and real-life adventures.

Great achievement, ok story, bad narrator.

The achievement to go across the country on a bicycle in the seventies in undeniable and great. The narrator is just reading the paper copy out loud. It could have been good with a great story teller.

I wish there was more of it!

Would you consider the audio edition of Bike Trip to be better than the print version?

I don't have the print version but will purchase it if available.

What did you like best about this story?

The details of the adventure which was obviously well-documented then, and the narration from the now. Beautifully written and masterfully narrated.

Which character – as performed by Steve Bobulinski – was your favorite?

Steve himself. He was vulnerable, heroic, thoughtful, and extremely likable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A beautiful, life-changing journey taken with open hearts & open minds on the open road.

Any additional comments?

I wish there was more of it. I was sorry it ended, but loved the ride.
