Publisher's summary

A devastating plague continues to rage through the land of Muirwood, and all hope is laid at the feet of the young woman Lia. Called as a magical protector, Lia volunteers to embark on one last quest to rescue the knight-maston Colvin - her great love - and his pupil, the alleged heir to the fallen kingdom of Pry-Ree. Undaunted by injuries, Lia sets off across land and sea warning the kingdom of the great plague that is upon them. The arduous journey leads her to the doors of Dochte Abbey, where her friends are supposedly held. However, a fallen enemy lies in wait for Lia, as well as an unbearable new truth. The revelation will pit Lia’s deepest desires against the fate of her enchanted world.…

Fantastically epic and at all times engaging, The Scourge of Muirwood is a monumental finale to the Muirwood Trilogy.

Just wow

If you want to laugh, cry, cringe and even loathe at what happens then this is a book for you. To better understand it I encourage you to read it from the beginning of the trilogy.

All I can say is wow..

Exceptional writing.

loved all his work so far, and the narrator does a fantastic job of bringing his words to life. I enjoy the fact he uses history as inspiration for his characters, events and rituals.

Least favorite Jeff Wheeler series

I’ve been on a Jeff Wheeler binge lately and this is my least favorite series, it’s slow and super preachy to the point it’s cringe. I kept thinking each book would get better but it just kind of stayed a religious, relationship type book the whole time when I was hoping for more action. Oh well, on to the next.

Strong women

Lea is a wonderful heroine who has stood strong in her morales; in the face of adversities and threats.

Wow What a Finale To a Wonderful Trilogy

I was recently introduced to Jeff Wheeler's books and was blown away with this series. This is an amazing story steeped in ancient European lore. Jeff makes one feel as if they are a part of the story. It is as if you can feel, hear, smell, see the events taking place. I think Kate Rudd was the perfect narrator for it. She captured its emotion and tone. I have noticed that other reviewers have not liked some of the "preachiness." Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but for me this encapsulated the fight between good and evil in a very real way. If you don't like religious overtones then don't read it, but you will be missing out on a great series.

I appreciated that this was a morally clean book. Without giving away any spoilers I liked how the main character was developed from a nobody and then grew to become the person she was meant to be through all three books. Having been a rambunctious child, she grew into a person who was willing to give her very life for her friends and beliefs.

Enjoy this wonderful series.

Great story (series) & narration, too

The entire series is so imaginative. I couldn't tear myself away from it. The narration is terrific, too. This book does a good job of tying the pieces together from the first 2 books. I've really enjoyed all the books I've read from this author so far. I'm looking forward to continuing with the Covenant of Muirwood trilogy. The author's website also helps you get immersed in the world of Muirwood with pictures & descriptions of the different locations in Muirwood, character overviews, & glossary terms. His Kingfountain series is also fantastic!

what a marvelous adventure this Trilogy has been.

love love love this book. in my business I drive a lot and so, I had downloaded it to Audible, as well as the other two books in the trilogy, but got so immersed in the final book that I ended up listening to it while I was eating while I was doing the laundry etc etc etc. sorry to say goodbye to the characters. Now I have to reread the second set with Maia as the heroine, as I read them first and know I missed a lot of the nuances that I would have caught had I read the series in the proper order. Jeff wheeler is my new best-loved author. so glad he's prolific.

The Last of the Trilogy

What made the experience of listening to The Scourge of Muirwood the most enjoyable?

Kate Rudd's performance was awesome, as usual. She is so good that time just flies by.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Scourge of Muirwood?

Lia in the Lair. Very exciting, an "on the edge of your seat" experience.

What about Kate Rudd’s performance did you like?

She so capable and articulate. I find myself wishing I had a list of her work and then find stories in that list that I might like.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really, unlike the others in this series. I was just wanting to get to the end.
