Publisher's summary

12-year-old Aidan Errolson, comes from a long line of adventurers. His grandparents were among the first settlers of Corenwald's Eastern Frontier. His father had been one of the kingdom's greatest warriors. Aidan, on the other hand, lives the quiet, comfortable life, of a nobleman's son. He never has any real adventures, and that, he believes, is the one great injustice of his otherwise happy life.

All that will change the day he first hears the bark of the bog owl, and meets Dobro Turtlebane. Dobro is one of the feechiefolk, a tribe of half-civilized swamp dwellers who fight too much, laugh too loud, cry too easily, and smell just terrible. But another meeting on that remarkable day may change Aidan's life even more profoundly. Bayard the Truthspeaker arrives with a startling pronouncement: Aidan Errolson will grow to be the Wilderking, the long-prophesied wild man, who will come out of Corenwald's forests and swamps to lead the kingdom back to its former glory. There's just one question: Is Bayard the Truthspeaker a prophet or a madman? This initial installment in The Wilderking Trilogy is sure to capture the hearts of young and old, boys and girls alike.

Very Enjoyable

This book is narrated by its author- and hs is very easy to listen too. He hid an excellent job in both the writing and performance.
The story it’s self is written at a middle grade level so kids can enjoy it. However it also makes an easy - but interesting - read for adults.
A word of warning - once I started I devoured the entire 3 Book series and wished for more. The story continues in each book so be prepared to get them all; but I believe you’ll enjoy the ride.

excellent story and reader!

Jonathan Rogers is a wonderful writer and brings the swampy richness of Feechie folk and young boys to life in this David like tale! So so good to hear!!! So rousing an ending, too!!!

Fantastic

We got this for the kids on a road trip but my wife and I enjoyed it immensely. Very entertaining for kids and adults alike. Full of humour, poetry, wit and inspiration. The trilogy is an epic story. Brilliantly written and performed.

The framework of the story

The world is built with a mix of familiar and new enough to draw in young listeners and keep them interested. The story was a good fit for my 5yo boy and 8yo girl. The author does a good job of building a world around the classic framework of the story of Daniel from the Bible. He incorporates bits of European history American culture and Biblical storyline into a fun and intriguing story with enough action to entertain without adding a level of drama that might scare off you get listeners.. overall a great job.. I’ve already purchased the next two books in the trilogy
