Publisher's summary

Vampires cannot return to their previous mortal state... or can they?

Jack has spent the past ten years as a vampire, traveling with his fanged friends, but there is something missing. Once a year he comes home to take a nostalgic walk through his childhood home. He visits his grave and looks in on his kid brother, watching him from afar, but this time is different. Billy is older than Jack now, a jaded hunter with a thirst for killing vamps, and he almost catches Jack in the house. Then a werewolf tries to kill a pretty girl in the cemetery. A freak incident restores Jack's mortality and takes away his fangs.

This is it, the day he's dreamed about. He can return home, graduate from high school, and reclaim his life... but there's something Jack doesn't know. His transformation was not an accident. He has a destiny to fulfill and it doesn't include any of the things he so desperately wants.

Jack is supposed to kill the head werewolf using a one-time-only magical device, but he kind of likes the guy. And he's sure the rumors about the head werewolf building an army to destroy the world are just made-up lies. Besides, there's another werewolf Jack wants to kill. The psychotic werewolf still living in town, pretending to be normal, ripped his parents apart in front of Jack. If it wasn't for his vampire friends he'd be dead too.

Should he use the magic Silver is trusting him with to save the world or get revenge?

Wrong genre

Overall this book was an interesting read and a unique take on the vampire legacy. However, I didn't like the inconsistency of the main character's personality. He is supposed to be a 27 year old man trapped in a 17 year old's body but most of the time he behaved like a 14-15 year old. I found it difficult to relate to or understand him because of this. It was basically an excellent pre-teen fiction that was morphed into a good YA novel.

A fangtastic read!

Vampires cannot return to their previous mortal state...
Or can they?

I really loved reading this book - so enjoyable and interesting. The story really took me by surprise and I'm loving it so far.

Cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series as soon as possible. I highly recommend this book.

Full of vampires, werewolves, hunters, family, friends, wraiths and romance.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.

The narration definitely surprised me because, my word, the narrators was such a perfect choice. Truly. He was marvelous and perfect, he did justice to our hero. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book.

The book is awesome!

Where does Vampires Rule rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The book is awesome. It had me gripped to the end. I can't wait to read the whole series. I wasn't crazy about the narrator's voice, but the book is awesome.

What other book might you compare Vampires Rule to and why?

TWILIGHT because Jack could touch somebody and read all their thoughts like Aro could in New Moon and Breaking Dawn.

Which character – as performed by Alexander Edward Trefethen – was your favorite?

I don't know

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES

Vampire story with a twist.

Would you try another book from Kasi Blake and/or Alexander Edward Trefethen?

Personally found story good. Predicted the bad guy. However that may be because I am an adult and read lots of mysteries. I disliked the narrator. Voice semed to be condesending at first and to me tainted the audio experience. I found depth in the characters and they were beliveable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Silver due to how she handled everything.

What didn’t you like about Alexander Edward Trefethen’s performance?

Tone of voice and the way he portrayed what the main character said.

Do you think Vampires Rule needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

The strry obviousy was not completed but did not leave in a major cliffhanger like some books do. Story plot kept moving and was enjoyable but to me narrator was a poor choice.

Any additional comments?

Listen to the sample and make sure you would be willing to listen to the narrator for the whole book. If in doubt read the book.
