Editorial Reviews

In this fantasy, the listener gets drawn into a scenario in which sorcerers with powerful magic learn to defend themselves and their temple from evil pirates. The full cast is effective in portraying this unique world. Each voice is distinct and matches its character well. The mages, or teachers, are calm and wise, and the young mages, or students, are typical teens trying to control their impulsive natures. Because this is the second in a series, the relationships among the characters are a bit difficult to understand at first. But the mission is clear - the young friends must band together to defeat evil.

Publisher's Summary

The four young mages, Tris, Sandy, Daja, and Briar, are just starting to settle into their new home at Winding Circle Temple. But even as they struggle to cope with the powerful magic that binds them together, Winding Circle comes under attack by pirates armed with fierce new weapons. Working closely with their teachers, the mages Niko, Lark, Frostpine, and Rosethorn, the four youngsters move ever more deeply into their magic as they help to fend off the escalating attacks.
But how deep is too deep?
Packed with humor, magic, fantasy, and thrilling action scenes, Tris's Book vividly demonstrates why Tamora Pierce is America's most popular writer of young adult fantasy.

Another excellent Full Cast Audio production

This is the 2nd book in the Circle of Magic quartet and picks up just days after the 1st book (Sandry's Book - also available on Audible) left off. I recommend that you listen to the books in order as there is a natural progression in the relationships and plots in the stories. My whole family, girls and boys/kids and adults, like these books and Full Cast Audio makes them very fun to listen to.

I love this series. When I can't find anything else to read I listen to these and I still enjoy them so much.
