Publisher's Summary

Hannibal was a great and skillful general who defeated the Romans at Trebia, Lake Trasimenus, and Cannae, and all but took Rome. G.A. Henty has woven an exciting adventure tale that will keep listeners on the edge of their seats while providing detailed information about the Punic Wars and the political climate in which they took place. This is the perfect way to awaken interest in history and encourage learning.

difficult to listen to

We found the narrator difficult to understand, and when following along in the book we noticed that he missed words altogether. After Dad recovered from his cold, he finished reading this one aloud for us. Loved the story, though. It was written in the 19th century, and therefore don't expect cultural sensitivity and scientific accuracy.
