With how the 2nd Book ended, I had serious doubts that Marie Rutkoski could deliver a satisfying end to the Winner's Trilogy.
But I'm glad to be wrong! Fans of the first two books should read this if only to see how the story ends. People who especially love the 1st book would (in my opinion) probably love this book for all the callbacks to The Winner's Curse.
Kestrel being kickass with her mind for strategy. Arin being badass for his leadership and knack for physical combat. Kestrel and Arin getting back together. These are some of the things one can expect from the book
As for the ending, I think the author did a great job in wrapping up the series.
So anyone who has read Books 1 & 2, I think you have every reason to finish the series!
This is an enjoyable series with some good twists and turns, however it feels very stretched to make it three books. This final book has a satisfying conclusion, but things feel very dragged out with endless discussion of battles, walking to battles, waiting for battles etc. If you've read the first two, you'll probably get through this just to know the end of the story which has some good moments, but it's pretty tedious in other places.
i swear this book gave me a minni heart attack. i was overwhelmed with excitement and anxiety. what a great ending and what a fabulously written story. I loved it.
Wonderful story, so enjoyable I listened to it in 1 day. I love Arin and Kestrel. I really liked the prince he was so funny and not annoying like some "funny" people in other books. But one thing! It's cacAYEdas not cacAHdas!!! But amazing book author must be very proud. Nice end to the trilogy, nothing untied.
