Hooked from start to finish

32 years old and loved every minute. I also enjoyed the entire Selection series by this author.

Disappointed

So let me start by saying this is not typically what I read, so maybe the fact that I didn't care much for it just comes down to personal taste.

IMO, thin plot, two dimensional characters, and narration that honestly reminded me of those Barbie PC games I used to play when I was a kid in the 90s. I dont know, the voice is weirdly girly and upbeat, and didn't hold a lot of emotion beyond squealing girly delight and depressed, angsty sobs.

I definitely think I just don't fit the target audience for this book - too young for me, and I'm only 22.

Forbidden Love + Family Ties + Lovely Narration

I really loved this story. It reminded me a lot of The Little Mermaid, my favorite Disney princess. To this day, I am still obsessed with that story as I find it endearing that the ordinary is so coveted. I also find that overall, that story is just magical. That is how I feel about this story. I love the role the ocean plays, and the sisterly bond of the sirens, and most of all, I love the love story. It was sweet and imperfectly perfect.

Arielle DeLisle did a fantastic job at carrying the story. So gifted! I will definitely seek out more stories narrated by her.

Awesome work!

It was a great story and a view into an interesting mythical world, my only complaint is that I wanted more - I think the ending was too abrupt but it was awesome!

Real life is sad enough

I read to escape into different worlds, but Kiera's stories are depressing! I decided not to finish it and I never quit on a book!

Not the Right Book For Me

The story is for young women. I started it, and the reader's voice seems really young too. I just couldn't go on with it.
I'm sure some may like it. I'm more of a Kate Morton type reader, and just finished Daphne Du Mauier's Rebecca.

It's the same old Kiera Cass story.

It's the same Keira Cass story, a perfect girl, with a perfect love, who makes perfect decisions at all times pretends her life is hard when everyone around her feigns over her.

Wonderful narrator

I loved Kiera Cass' other books and narrators; but this narrator has a beautiful voice. Just as I would imagine the Sirens in the book.

100 Years of Servitude to the Ocean

Where does The Siren rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rate this a 7. The performance was great, but I have listened to a lot of amazing books

What did you like best about this story?

This book has an interesting take on Sirens. I didn't know a ton about them before reading this book, but I never thought about them being Sirens because of the Oceans mercy or indebted to the ocean. It was interesting to read about their relationship with the Ocean.
