Where do you draw the line between what's real and what's fake?
For 17-year-old Juniper White, the question has always been all but impossible to answer. The daughter of two con artists, she has spent her childhood moving from home to home, from name to name, and is finally - finally! - about to finish high school and decide, once and for all, if she wants to join her parents in their life of crime.
But when a new reality show sets up in her hometown, following some of her classmates and "exposing" some of the town's crime-filled past, Juniper must somehow avoid the spotlight to protect her family and their secrets. When she starts receiving mysterious love letters in her locker at school, attracting the attention of the cameras, she has to wonder - is this real, too, or as orchestrated as the rest of the reality show appears to be?
As Juniper's world unravels, she starts to confide more and more in the shy tattooed boy from the local parlor. But in a town where secrets are becoming TV show fodder and criminals abound, trust is a rare commodity. And for Juniper, the truth could mean exposure and, worse, the loss of her life as Juniper White....
