YA super hero story at its worst.

Okay too many good reviews to be real reviews maybe.. Or everyone enjoys the torturous stupidity of the "hero"..

I really wanted to like this book but the main character just got annoying how ignorant he was of his situation... I mean he is a quarterback and apparently good looking by all accounts, gets told so by the "hottest" girl in school and yet he still is clueless that he is in fact popular...

Don't get me started on the whole "I love my best friend but I'm an idiot so I'm going to keep being a sucker for this cheer leader who as much as tells me I'm only status booster for her and that's all"

SPOILER

The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that he acts like his best friend is so important to him but doesn't just go ahead and tell her about who he is and what he is.. Not even when her life is in danger..

He is sooo selfish he rather keep his secret from the person supposedly he trusts the most rather than trust in her and tell her what's up. Most of the issues could have been curtailed and the stupid cliffhanger "oh my god she is going to date the guy that kidnapped her and wants me dead" wouldn't have pissed me off so much...

End rant... This book annoyed me instead of entertained me.. I won't be getting next book in series. I will be staying away from YA books for a while to cleanse my pallet...

The OC with superpowers

The title of my review says it all. It's every teenage mellow drama cliche crammed into a can with the words "superhero story" labeled on the side. If u want a good teen super hero story read hero x or invincible but avoid this dreck like the plague

YES! This Author knows how to tell a story!

I loved this book! This author knows how to make you fall in love with the characters and hate the bad guys. The book has some great moments of triumph.. its exactly what one would hope for out of a Superhero book. I can't wait to hear more from Alan Janney!

Great performance by Chris Patton.

The performance of Chris Patton was outstanding. The inflections and the different character voices brought the story to life. The story is good yet basic and linear. No thought needed to enjoy this book.

'The Outlaw' is one of my favorite series.

When I first read the summary to this book on kindle it intrigued me. When I read the book the story didn't go how the summary made it seem like it would, but I loved it even more because of it. The book itself was more realistic, more thought out, more just plain down to earth in characters, explanations, and the written world in general. You can't help but to care about the characters and what happens to them.

I've read and re-read this series as many times as time and reading new and hopefully promising books allow, but those times seem to get shorter and shorter. When I saw that this series got it's audible debut it was an instant buy for me.

Teenage super hero, sort of.

This book is definitely targeted at young adults, with the whole teenage angst, school bully, hormonal changes, etc, etc. None the less it is an enjoyable introduction to what should prove to be a good super hero series.
