Publisher's Summary

The New York Times best seller that's changing America's diet is now perfect for younger listeners.
"What's for dinner?" seemed like a simple question - until journalist and supermarket detective Michael Pollan delved behind the scenes. From fast food and big organic to small farms and old-fashioned hunting and gathering, this young readers' adaptation of Pollan's famous food-chain exploration encourages kids to consider the personal and global health implications of their food choices.
In a smart, compelling format with updated facts as well as a new afterword, The Omnivore's Dilemma serves up a bold message to the generation that needs it most: It's time to take charge of our national eating habits - and it starts with you.

Critic Reviews

"MacLeod Andrews offers such an enthusiastically engaging narration that it almost doesn't matter that the subject of this audiobook is fascinating and compelling in its own right." ( AudioFile)

So glad I finally read this book!

As an adult I still really enjoyed this book and found the principles it espouses to be fascinating. I'm going to be more vigilant about my food choices and am going to try to cook more often and therefore choose better ingredients. Co-op, here I come! -- Despite the fact that this is a young readers edition I still found it engaging and totally worth my time. I hope schools are using this. No matter what your age is, I recommend this book highly! MacLeod Andrews does an excellent job as the narrator, too!

Thought provoking. Engagingly narrated

Being a vegetarian I had no difficulty in the author's choices. I found his compassion for animals and consideration for the decisions we all make heart warming. There's room for everyone in his philosophy.

Truly important messages

A must listen for all Americans. Still got a lot of of it on the other side of the world in Australia. This book helps people remember and think about things we need to remember and think about more in our lives. Loved it.
