Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author Kami Garcia, a contemporary romance full of loss, love, and redemption.
Seventeen-year-old Frankie Devereux would do anything to forget the past. Haunted by the memory of her boyfriend's death, she lives her life by one dangerous rule: nothing matters. At least that's what Frankie tells herself after a reckless mistake forces her to leave her privileged life in the Heights to move in with her dad, an undercover cop. She transfers to public school in the Downs, where fistfights in the halls don't faze anyone and illegal street racing is more popular than football.
Marco Leone is the fastest street racer in the Downs. Tough, sexy, and hypnotic, he makes it impossible for Frankie to ignore him...and how he makes her feel. But the risks Marco takes for his family could have devastating consequences for them both. When Frankie discovers his secret, she has to make a choice. Will she let the pain of the past determine her future? Or will she risk what little she has left to follow her heart?
Your own heart will race with each minute of this heart-stopping star-crossed love story.

I didn't really find anything very interesting or memorable about this book. It was a bit boring and it took me a while to get through it.

It wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either.

Really wish that Kami Garcia hadn't put off the 3rd book in the legion series to write this one, because I cant wait to see what happens in that series!

Average read

I've been looking forward to read this book, specially after all the hype it got from several social media's ..I picked it up expecting suspenseful romantic book that will keep me at the edge of my seat, unfortunately that wasn't the case at all.. while I did like Frankie's character I have so much issues with the way she thinks and how she fell for Marco ( literally after one day of meeting) their relationship didn't make sense to me and I wanted to get more of the transition phase from the how broken they both were to helping each other out .. the ending was nice but I felt the book was so average and I expected something more

if you like this book I suggest you check out ( Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry ) it is very much the same
