This is amazing!

I've enjoyed listening to all three books so far. I didn't think the author could out do the second one, but this is by far the best one. For me the characters are the best part of the story. I've enjoyed following Adrina, Vilmos and Seth's adventures. Emel is also a favorite and he starts to accept who he is. The introduction of Myrial and Edward makes an already strong cast of characters even better. Listen to the first two and then listen to this one.

My teenage son is the one who got me started on Robert Stanek's books. We've both become avid listeners and recently got a second ipod. I listen when I walk and sometimes while driving. Stanek has a gift with creating interesting characters who are well-written and critical to the story. Some, like Emel, grow on you and you start to like them more and more. Others, like Vilmos and Valam, you like right away. The author masterfully blends the history of the world into the story and draws you into his richly imaged world. By the time I got to this third book, it felt as if this land was as real as our own. The plot has numerous twists and turns. There is intrigue, mystery, adventure and plenty of action. If you enjoy fantasy, this is a must read. Even if you don't usually like fantasy, you may very much enjoy this.
