Publisher's summary

Cara and Riley know the truth about their new job, but they can't say a word about it to anyone or they'll be killed. While their fates hang in the balance, Theo has promised to find a way to help them. Help can't be found in Austin, so he spends a lot of time traveling and leaving Cara behind to pretend like everything is normal.

Tired of sitting around and waiting to die, Cara and Riley want to take matters into their own hands. They discover the secrets of the Rosewater clan, and find out their leader isn't the leader at all. As mysteries are uncovered, they learn they've fallen into a hidden war of immortal clans that's been raging for centuries.

Theo has been shielding Cara from the horrible truth, but Cara has just discovered some truths that even he didn't know.

Great read.

Unlike the first book the second concentrates more on the characters, the immortals and how to break the bracelets without the consequence.

I liked the narrator, I thought she was perfect for this book.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The Immortals

What did you love best about The Immortal Truth?

I loved the characters...Cara & Riley are great together & I like Theo, although Cara & Theo get a little predictable and nauseating!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Riley...although she is faced with the same fate as Cara, she takes it in a laid back way, even though she is just as determined to find out the truth as Cara is and she does not have a guy that is constantly trying to cover her back.

What about Sarah Puckett’s performance did you like?

She does a great voice over...she makes each voice believable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did...however, life & work get in the way but I did go straight into the 3rd book - which I bought myself since I enjoyed the other 2 so much!!

Any additional comments?

An the mystery unfolds...

This 2nd installment was great. In the 1st book we learned that the immortals are siphoning the life from their "life blood" to fuel their immortality. This 2nd installment is focused on how to get the bracelets off break the life blood connection. This was a growing book were we learn a little more about the characters and the mystery around the immortals. I am looking forward to the next installment!

Narration is great. Very happy with the production quality.

Interesting premise

Narrator does a good job. She fits the characters and gives a clear performance.

Entertaining enough, but I’m not a fan of the fumbly bumbly personality of Cara. She’s more clueless than I like my heroines. She’s more focused on Theo than saving her own life; she does step up some, but really it’s all things she just falls into. She made horrible choices towards the end, and I’m not a fan of how the story ended. Also, things move too slowly; I didn’t need so much story about the motorcycle. The whole story just feels a bit too basic for me; not a lot of action going on. The romance is really sweet though; a cute connection between them. Cara, Theo, and Riley are trying to figure out how to get the death bracelet off. I like the mystery aspect; I just wish things came to light quicker and the story was more evolved. So, far this series is a quick, easy read. I do want to see how the story ends, so on to the next.
