Publisher's summary

The international best-selling series with over five million copies sold in the US alone!

For years, the Kingdom of Araluen has prospered, with the evil lord Morgarath safely behind the impassable mountains. For years, its people have felt secure. But the scheming hand of the dark lord has not been idle....

On a special mission for the rangers, Will and his friend Horace, an apprentice knight, travel to a neighboring village and discover the unsettling truth: All the villagers have either been slain or captured. Could it be that Morgarath has finally devised a plan to bring his legions over the supposedly insurmountable pass? If so, the king’s army is in imminent danger of being crushed in a fierce ambush. And Will and Horace are the only ones who can save them.

Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, T.H. White’s The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire series.

why bother

don't bother wasting your time. most the series isn't available in US. why would you even bother paying these two books if you are not going to include the rest. 1 star until rest are available

Great Story, Poor Narration

I love these books, great story, but the narrator is terrible at putting the emphasis on the wrong words when reading character speech. I find myself getting distracted trying to re-speak the characters’ words how they should’ve been spoken. It’s as if the narrator is reading a teleprompter and doesn’t or can’t see the emphasis written into the dialog by the author.

good

Good book but so short.. Wish they could combine them into 2 book packages. I'm going to listen to other books for now just because they last longer an give me more satisfaction for the money.

Excellent story

The story throws you for a rollercoaster. You think it's going in one direction, then wham, completely different turn! Great narration, but could use a few more accents. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish characters. Great story!

Great but annoying ending

It’s always annoying when characters become dumb without reason. Jump off the boat. That simple.
