Publisher's Summary

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride, better known as Max, knows what it's like to soar above the world. She and all the members of the "Flock" - Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel - are just like ordinary kids - only they have wings and can fly. It may seem like a dream come true to some, but their lives can morph into a living nightmare at any time - like when Angel, the youngest member of the "Flock", is kidnapped and taken back to the "School", where she and the others were genetically engineered by sinister scientists. Her friends brave a journey to blazing hot Death Valley, California, to save Angel, but soon enough, they find themselves in yet another nightmare - this one involving fighting off the half-human, half-wolf "Erasers" in New York City.
Whether in the treetops of Central Park or in the bowels of the Manhattan subway system, Max and her adopted family take the ride of their lives. Along the way Max discovers from her old friend and father-figure Jeb - now her betrayed and greatest enemy - that her purpose is to save the world - but can she?

Well I'm hooked!

I stumbled across this story of Maximum Ride in the movie of the same name. I wanted to read the whole story. First I saw it was written by an author I don't usually read and assumed his books were mostly crime dramas. Did not know James Patterson could create such an adorable group of characters. They leaped off the pages and into my heart. To my delight I can see there are a lot of books and stories about these young adults. And I'm hooked enough to feel the need to read them onto the next "Ride"...

I've red all the books already but I wanted to try the audiobooks.
My six problems with it are:
1) max sounds really weird like an older lady in a sense and not AT ALL like a teen.
2) Nudge sounds really obnoxious and sounds more like a 6 year old.
3) iggy sounds like a whiny kid
4) gazzy sounds like a pubescent teen
5) Fang (tho he's ma fave) sounds like...idk just weird. Sounds like the narrator was pretending to sound like a man but failing terribly.
And 6) The music. Two words.
Other than that I love the book.
I totally love FAX! Go team FAX!!
(Not trying to spoil)
