Publisher's summary

Embrace your destiny.

Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a fallen one, promised herself she'd never do the work of her father - polluting souls. She'd been naive to make such a claim. She'd been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school's party girl. And all the while there's Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of the Duke of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: Is loving someone worth risking your life?

Even better than the first book.

After reading Sweet Evil, I couldn't wait to get started on Sweet Peril. I was itching for more of Anna and Kaidan, but alas, as fate and the sucky demons and whisperers would have it, they had a really hard time getting together. While I didn't like Kaidan for most of Sweet Evil, I loved him in Sweet Peril for the most part, even though he still had his moments of jerkdom, because I knew he was doing it to protect Anna. Kopano was great, but he just doesn't float my boat, and I was glad that what I thought was going to be a love triangle, which I do not like, wasn't what I thought it would be. I was pleased with how that turned out. The story itself is action-packed and full of suspense. I love the secondary characters in this book - they are all so well written and personable, but my favorite of all is Blake - I just love Blake. I wish he would get a spin-off book of his own.

Again, Sweet Peril was beautifully written and captured my attention from beginning to end. Anna had to embrace her demonic side in this book and became a somewhat of a party girl, but she still managed to hold onto that innocence that makes her who she is. I loved where the romance went with Kaidan and Anna and I loved where Wendy Higgins took the story. Thankfully, I had Sweet Reckoning to start as soon as I was done. I would have hated to have to wait on it.

My Opinon: A definite hit - hotter with more romance, the suspense is taken up a notch, and Kaidan - oh yeah....totally loved him. If you don't have it, I would definitely get it.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Easy to follow. Reminds me of Twilight- but maybe better?! Listened to this one in less than 36 hours…. They keep getting better- off to book three! 😂

Great Second Book to the Series!

I was afraid to get this book because it looked like all the characters that I loved in book 1, weren't going to be around a whole lot, but I'm glad I finally gave in and bought it. I love being in Anna's point of view because you see her struggles and triumphs throughout the book and she seems more realistic to me. This book was all around a great book with romance, action, and character struggles. I can't wait to listen to the 3rd one!

Trilogy? Isn't that three?

Good story but so confused by "trilogy" bull shit. Just saying. You're getting a one for the bs. So tired of authors getting money by dangling a carrot.
