Publisher's summary

Sixteen-year-old Finley Price has perfected two things: how to direct a world-class production and how to fly way, way under the radar. The only person who ever seems to notice Finley is her best friend and godparents' son, Oliver Bertram. Since Finley moved in with her godparents after the death of her father, she and Oliver have grown close. If Finley could just take Oliver's constant encouragement to heart and step out of the shadows, she'd finally chase her dream of joining the prestigious Mansfield Theater. But when teen movie stars Emma and Harlan Crawford move across the street from the Bertrams, they shake up Finley and Oliver's stable friendship.

As Emma and Oliver grow closer, Finley realizes that Harlan's attention is shifting to her. She discovers she might have feelings for him, too. Or is she interested in Harlan only because Oliver is taken? Finley doesn't want to be won, and she doesn't want to see Oliver with anyone else. To claim Oliver's heart - and keep her own - she'll have to find the courage to do what she fears most: step into the spotlight.

Great story

I enjoyed Elizabeth’s reading however Kirby’s reading was too slow at times and hard to listen to

Ehh, it was okay.

I loved the plot of the story, but I hated how they had you fully invested in one relationship most of the book. All the while, the last chapter or 2 they completely destroy that story line and put her with someone else that you didn’t see help her grow (although in the background he was helping her all along)

Great Modern Day Adaption.

One of the best modern day adaptions of an Austen novel in my opinion. Geared toward young adults which I am not but listened to it because I'm a Jane Austen fan. There are 2 follow up books that I know of. I'm hoping they will soon be on Audible. The narration was great. a bit too much "making out." for my taste but all in all, an enjoyable book. The name replacements for some of the characters to more modern names was genius. Especially for the girls. I've heard this book twice and both times were equally enjoyable.

Oh my gosh I loooooved this book. Literally listened to it all in one day. All the complexity of Mansfield Park but with the perfect modern application. Amazing!

I would like to see if they get together or not. I'll wait for the next book and see it goes.

Excellent

Kate Watson did a wonderful job with this book. I completely enjoyed it although young adult is not my normal genre.

Elizabeth Evans was perfect for this role. Her performance was spot on. I'll be checking out more of her narrating. Kirby Heyborne did a really good job as well. Their voices are wonderful for longer reads.

*I listened to this book through the Audible Escapes program.

Good but long

I enjoyed it. But I didn’t understand why the daughter didn’t get her ass kicked . And Nora should have been put in her place by the uncle and aunt. It was long and when I say that I mean it took to long to get there , when you read it you will understand.

ABSOLUTELY CHARMING

Gah!! I have so many feelings about this book. I cried and laughed and swooned and fumed. The characters were so compelling and real, and the love square actually worked. (I'm iffy on love triangles/squares in general). Fans of Jane Austen will love all of the little nods to the source material (I laughed out loud when Aunt Mariah said she was looking at getting a pug), but new readers definitely don't need to be familiar with Mansfield Park to love this book. It was beautiful and charming and funny and I just loved it.

Drew me in

Fun, well written. I looked forward to every chapter. It was romantic and sweet without too many cliques.
