Love this finale to the Anne series. The narrator did a lovely job especially with Susan!

Well performed, beautifully told. It's amazing how this series has stood the test of time.

A faithful take on a childhood classic

Old books can often simply feel dated. While this one isn't entirely exempt, it is also singularly charming and life affirming in a way that one rarely encounters anymore. Earnest and heart-warming without becoming saccharine.

Delightful Rendition

L.M. Montgomery's "Rilla of Ingleside" was always one of my favorite books growing up, and it is just as delightful to rediscover it now. Barbara Caruso's voice is flexible and captures the different 'voices' in the novel very well. There is some serious (wartime) subject matter, and she carries this off very well in addition to the lighter, humorous material. This audiobook is a very enjoyable listen for any Anne fans.

I wish this series had not ended. It was such a pleasant break from the chaos happening in the United States.

An Ode to Canadian Patriotic Fervor

Barbara Caruso does a wonderful job, as always, reading this final book of the Anne of Green Gables series. This book is my least favorite of them all. There are some sweet little stories woven in, but the absolute overloaded war sentiment really takes away from the plot. I can only imagine that Ms. Montgomery would have been lynched if she had not written such a syrupy account of wartime in P.E.I., if the accounts in this book at all reflected the sentiments of the general populace!

Amazing!

It was a really great book and I have listened to it countless times. Just I wish Walter did not die. And I didn't like the ending but I love all other parts of the book.

A must read to any Anne Shirley fan

The last book in the Anne of Green Gable series bravely takes on the difficulties that the Canadians back at home went through during the First World War. Guaranteed to make me cry every time I read or listen, this book is an amazing finish to the series. Barbara Caruso’s performance was okay, but the recording changes volume now and then. Heavily recommended

Rilla of Ingleside

I liked it when Rilla planned a wedding. I also liked it when Gem came home. I would recommend this book to everyone.

The Great War at PEI

Rilla of Ingleside is by far the best novel I have read about World War I. Having lived through the war herself, L.M. Montgomery tells the story through the eyes of the mothers and fathers, sisters, wives and sweethearts that fought the Great War on the home front in an account that is both heartbreaking and beautiful. And Barbara Caruso does as good of a job narrating this last in the Anne of Green Gables series as she does with all the rest.
