Would you consider the audio edition of Residue to be better than the print version?
A Stupid question. How am I supped to know?
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jack, our hero.
What does David Stifel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Good characters. Maybe a tad too much "acting" at first, but then I really got to like his style. I really felt like he WAS Young Jack Bishop by the middle of the book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Very exciting and very enjoyable ! Yes, it's a great fast paced story, logical, intelligent, and keeps you ion the edge of your seat.
Any additional comments?
Residue: Jack Bishop, Book 1 - BRILLIANT! I really liked this book. It's got all the things I need; likable characters, logical story plot, lots of fast paced interesting action, scary monsters, twists you don't see coming, and most important of all... it's got HEART. Far too many Sic-fi-fantasy / horror novels out there are cruel, mean-written, overly bloody, and have no sense of "heart". Residue is full of emotion, but's it's not too heavy. It'snot melodrama, but more raw and real. Jack's life is turned to chaos, and he's riding an emotional roller coaster. He feels it all, but he is a good kid. He wants to do the right thing. He is a hero you can learn to love. Because Jack loves, he cares, and he gets hurt emotionally like a real person. This makes "Residue" a really great novel and rises it above 99% of the heartless, gore-fest, horror stories out there. This novel will make you lean forward in anticipation, jump at it's frightening turns, feel the rush of Jacks fear and rage with his anger, but best of Residue will make you blink back tears as Jack faces things too tough for most people to deal with. We will not be facing real monsters, but we will encounter the parts of life most of us would much rather not - death of some one close, missing a loved one, a broken heart, feeling helpless, facing your fears and struggling through the toughest - scariest situations. A great book that left me really wanting to know what happens to Jack next. Jeepers Creepers! I'm now waiting for by Steve Diamond to finish this series and have it put onto audible. Hurry up by Steve Diamond!! Stop goofing off, throw your television away, and write, man, WRITE! W R I T E !!!!!!

If you want to read this book, I would not recommend the audio version. The narrator sounds like he's in his 50s or 60s. The POV main character is 17. It sounds like an old dude dressing in what he thinks is kids' clothes and walking into a high school and being like, "What is up, my fellow teenagers?" I really can't understand this narrator choice.
