Previewed before daughters class read it in school

The story of a 13 year old foster boy, Joseph, narrated by his foster brother, Jack.
Joseph has a few month old daughter named Jupiter. Joseph is in foster care due to having the child with Madeleine, the 13 year old daughter of a lawyer and partially due to having an abusive father. The abuse is not spoken about other than referenced in the way Joseph reacts to others. He's looked at as a "trouble kid" by most, but not all, of the adults mentioned.
This story deals with Joseph's motivation to see his daughter and the change that happens within himself throughout the almost year spent with Jack's family
H-ll is said twice. Some bullying, a fight (3 on1), an almost suicide attempt by Joseph trying to break through the ice of a river, the eventual death of Joseph.
