Interesting

The story was predictable but the ending got me more intrigue to keep reading. I felt this was more or a prologue to the true story.

Once you start you can't stop

What did you love best about Nightshade?

Everything... Lol no really the narrators voice and emotions so could depict were outstanding. The story line in this the first book brings you in so be ready to listen to all three.... If your like me with in three days lol. If you are into werewolves and mystical stuff along those lines this book is right up your ally.

Who was your favorite character and why?

For that I am torn between calla the main character and her brother Ansel. Either way you can go wrong.

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Lowman – was your favorite?

Performed by Rebecca Lowman I would say Calla would take the win.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hard to pick just one moment this book has so many ups and downs and moments that made me laugh I don't think I could pick just one.

Any additional comments?

Buy it on here. Buy it at a book store. Buy it on a e-reader. Doesn't matter worth the read no matter the way you do it

Interesting Werewolf Novel

You know how I'm always complaining about the male teenagers in YA always acting abnormally? That they don't behave like normal teenage boys, specifically in real life? Well, I finally found a novel that I think laid it out on the table pretty well. Now, I'm just trying to process if I liked this way better than the typical YA superhero hero. NIGHTSHADE was a different take on the werewolf pack and on the YA male hero. Cremer had such original ideas to an old tale that I actually found myself delighted to read more and more as the back-story was revealed. It was highly original and very interesting. I can't wait to read book 2 and find out more about these new kind of shifters (Guardians) and how they came into this world. The narration was well done and I had no problems with the transitions.

Not at all what I expected.

There had been so much excitement about this book. I have wanted to read it for a long time. When I came across the title while browsing audibles, I was thrilled to listen.

The story is great! the world and characters are absolutely unique. Weres, shifters, paranormal beings of any kind, not new. But, the author has shown us a new story in how they can exist.

I just did not like how the wolves shift. I want the details of the turning. That is a lot of magic not explained. I mean of course it's somewhat explained, just not enough for me.

The narrator was great for Calla and other characters, but lost me when Shay was speaking.

At times Calla could be so much more as a strong alfa. Everything is there for Calla to be a strong leading female. However, there are too many scenes that take away her strength.

I will continue on with Wolfsbane and maybe Calla grows as things move along.

The main characters are young with a high school setting. Keep in mind they are supernatural beings. Age and behavior might be different than humans. A love triangle exists.

Great reading or listening for YA paranormal romance fans.

A Must Listen

This is an excellent book. I stumbled across this book months before it was published and was interested in it by the cover. I have become a true fan of the YAparanormal romance genre, This book surpassed its great cover by having an even better content. The story had me hooked from the first page and never stopped. I was disappointed when it ended and now can not wait for book 2 "Wolfbane" to come out this summer. The thing with audiobooks is that the reader can make or break a book. This reader did a wonerful job and i was not disappointed. I liked the audio version so much that I went out and bought the hardcover. You will not be disappointed.

love it

this book was great. It has a little bit of everything. It is a great read for those who like the supernatural world and stories along those lines. To me it is similar to the vampire diaries and other books like that.

First and best in the series

While I enjoyed the other two books that follow, this one was my favorite. I enjoyed reading the Kindle version and loved this audible version even more, the narrator brought the story to life in my opinion.

Stick this one out for the series

I bought all three of these books at once, something I rarely do. That is the only reason I stuck out this first book. The first 2/3 of the book is repetitious and full of teenage angst that drove me crazy. The storyline is original, but the explanations about what is happening is revealed too slowly, only coming together the last third of the book. With that said, the last third is good enough to almost redeem the first parts, and the next book does an even better job of making the story into an enjoyable experience.
The story is a unique portrayal of werewolves, or Guardians, having been created as protectors of important relics. The are ruled by Keepers, which Guardians think are the good guys. An internal conflict arises when their actions are questioned by a Guardian and a new-comer. Decisions have to be made and not just orders being followed.
