Randall Grange has been tricked into admitting herself into a treatment center and she doesn't know why. She's not a party hound like the others in her therapy group - but then again, she knows she can't live without pills or booze. Raised by an abusive father, a detached mother, and a loving aunt and uncle, Randall both loves and hates her life. She's awkward and a misfit. Her parents introduced her to alcohol and tranquilizers at a young age, ensuring that her teenage years would be full of bad choices, and by the time she's 23 years old, she's a full-blown drug addict.

Story
When Margo Price was nineteen years old, she dropped out of college and moved to Nashville to become a musician. She busked on the street, played open mics, and even threw out her TV so that she would do nothing but write songs. She met Jeremy Ivey, a fellow musician who would become her closest collaborator and her husband. But after working on their craft for more than a decade, Price and Ivey had no label, no band, and plenty of heartache. Maybe We’ll Make It is a memoir of loss, motherhood, and the search for artistic freedom in the midst of the agony.

Publisher's summary
This is a fun audiobook about a Hispanic family in the 60's living in the Pacoima area of Southern California. They own the Peace of the Shepherd Funeral Home close to San Fernando, which allows for some crazy events. The story is presented through the eyes of Lita Ramirez. Al Lucero is her biggest "pain in the ass", but she tolerates his better than everyone's else attitude, and takes joy in his demise. Raul, Lita's brother, acts as her protector, and is famous for his tootsie roll tosses. Abuella Sophia is a loving grandma that has a bad habit or two. There are good bar incidents from the Palomino Bar and the Hollywood crew. There are great 60's locations and histories in the audiobook, including the hippie insanity of the 60's in Topanga Canyon.

Marge, Jack’s bride of 60 years, though cut from the same rough bolt of Irish immigrant cloth, is his polar opposite - pessimistic and proud of it. What was their son, Mike, thinking when he took a sabbatical from his job with NBC News so he could pile these two world-class originals along with three of his grown kids and a daughter-in-law into a pair of rented RVs and hit the road for a month?

Four jackets of varying weights, enough socks for the entire Confederate Army, three umbrellas, most of the antacid aisle from the local pharmacy, and six pairs of old-people sneakers that all look exactly the same. Have you ever helped your parents pack for a weeklong cruise? No? I didn't think so. So shut it. So begins vacation for Summer Hartwell - 26 years old, living with her anxiety-ridden parents, and unwillingly booked by her brother on a weeklong cruise to Bermuda.
