Lazy copout.

Don't bother reading this book. While the previous one was heavily flawed but intriguing, the aithor seems to just give up half way through this one and rinse and repeat the same garbage for 5 hours before slapping a clearly rushed ending on. This is further emphasized given that his current running series, Alpha World, cannibalizes many of the themes and plot lines from these books. Go read those instead. While still poorly written, they have a bit more TLC and heart to them.

Nearly deads have the VR experience of a lifetime

This book took the narrative of "people of today taking part in VR experiences in the future," essentially. Mostly this book had good character development, there were a few instances where the characters choices or actions didn't make sense, given that these people are supposed to be pros at video games or at least not fucking noobs. This book involved adults acting cordial to people. Which is nice since that's the approach I'd take. One character says "deviants" far too much.
