The Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, has been called "a night that changed the course of American culture". More than 70 million television viewers - the largest-ever audience for an entertainment show - watched the Beatles' performance that February 9, 1964. It was only the beginning.

A rather bland synopsis of Beatles history
The book is alright, perhaps, for a casual fan just getting into the band, but any serious fan will find nothing new here. It never does more than skim the surface of the extraordinary Beatles story. It is also full of historical errors, sone feel quite deliberate, to "clean up" the story and deliberately shy away from controversial points. 3/5
