Publisher's summary

In her breathtaking young-adult debut, best-selling author Cecelia Ahern depicts a society in which perfection is paramount and flaws are punished. And where one young woman decides to take a stand that could cost her everything.

Celestine North lives a perfect life. She's a model daughter and sister, she's well liked by her classmates and teachers, and she's dating the impossibly charming Art Crevan. But then Celestine encounters a situation in which she makes an instinctive decision. She breaks a rule and now faces life-changing repercussions. She could be imprisoned. She could be branded. She could be found flawed.

Interesting concept

A great imagination has produced this. At times it is not too far from what we are living at the moment.

Excellent story

The story finished leaving me wanting more… I imagine there will be a sequel at some point, to tie up the loose ends…? I’m looking forward to it!

Perfect

that story is full of action and emotion and a perfect view if the mind of a real leader versus the mind of a sheep. I got this book in my monthly I will create and did not have time to sit down and read it, and the audio book is absolutely amazing! These performance of the narrator is absolutely on point

A Favourite

I purchased this series because I have the books and wanted to hear the story. My only complaint is how the narrator pronounces the word "Says"- it's unique and keeps sticking in my head. I love most everything Cecelia Ahern writes!

Just another "hunger games"

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The problem was not the narrator. It is just a boring story.

What was most disappointing about Cecelia Ahern’s story?

It was just another version of the overly told story of the girl who becomes the hero of the revolution when she didn't intended to.

Any additional comments?

I am very disappointed in Cecilia Ahern. I don't understand the need to follow a "teenage trend" like this one. There was nothing original about this story and I unfortunately found it boring.

Fast Paced Read

Flawed is not original by a long shot, but it was fast paced and still entertaining. The main character was a WOC, however it felt like it was tossed in for inclusivity and nothing more. Maybe in book 2 the main character's race will play a role, but as far as book one it felt like it was there just to say it was. Overall the book reminded me of Branded, The Haindmaids Tale, and Katnis Everdeen all mixed up lol If you want a quick, easy, quasi enjoyable beach read l, here you go! I look forward to book 2.

great book terrible ending

This has the making of a great story. I enjoyed the idea of the guild and a society on a puritan witch hunt. the character development was engaging and rich. The fault with this story is that it has been written with the intent of making me buy 3 or twenty more books to see some sort of resolution. I can't stand books which offer no illusion of a resolution and simply prepare for the oncoming series.
