Publisher's Summary

From birth to death, The War is all the citizens of Dystance know. As children it is drilled into their heads that war is the purpose behind all existence.
Winter doesn't agree. She's stumbled across remnants of life the way it was before The War began and now she longs to be as free as her ancestors.
With help from her best friend, Cedar, and the boy she is forbidden to love, Tallow, she believes she can do it. Winter can see a life beyond the Pickets, beyond the constant hunger and the threat of death, beyond the war machine.
Can one teenage girl and her dream of a better life really change the whole world?

Never ceases to amaze.

Where does Dystance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would have to put it as a 5 but I listen to alot of books so that doesn't say much. Majority are all books by Tufo so it's a win for him

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character would have to be cedar, because she is developing a tendency to stalk and listen in on Winter. Like a little guardian angel. Who also reads tons of romances.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

I would say Cedar because she's younger so she has to hit higher tones while speaking as her. She squeaks to since Cedar is 16 and is undoubtedly going through some changes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, after the story was over I was extremely overjoyed to hear from Trip once more. Interested in how Tufo will swing that.

Any additional comments?

Needless to say Winter's Rising was new and to get in used to without Sean and the original Talbot clan but the characters as always grow on you. Tufo has extreme talent when creating his characters so they make you grow fond of them.

A perfect addition to the Talbot story

Would you listen to Dystance again? Why?

I already have plans to!! In case I missed anything. I'll listen again before the next book comes out too.

What other book might you compare Dystance to and why?

In my realm of books it's unique. In a good way! It's dystopian. Another book genre I'm not fond of so I haven't read many. I love the gritty movies or tv shows but no ones done it good enough for me until now!

What about Julia Whelan’s performance did you like?

Cedar - nuff said!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh a few times. Again, in a good way.

Any additional comments?

I haven't been a YA in awhile so I didn't expect to like this book add to that ... Sean wasn't reading it so I was definitely reluctant. But I trust the author so I pre-ordered it. I was hooked by the end of the second chapter & it was basically a marathon listen after that. Good strong female characters!! Great believable interaction. I need to know what will happen next!! I'm already planning on buying a couple treeware books for actual YAs that I know. I'm certain they'll love it as much as I did! Can't wait for the next book! The reader did a fantastic job! I'm not a fan of female readers but she really did a great job. For the fans of ZFO ... Trip ... Ponch ... LOL
