YA is not usually my genre but I really like this story and loved it on Audible. I recommend this to everyone.

YA RH lots of promise

This plot had so much promise and I wanted to love it. I did enjoy it and the story was fun to listen to but I didn't completely click with the characters. The characters are at a school to become dragon hunters and the main MC has a boyfriend and she is also drawn to his brothers which she has a hard time with. She also finds out they are keeping some huge secrets from her which frustrates her. It also frustrated me too. I hope I will get more invested as the stories continue since this world has so much promise and I like the plot over all. Hopefully it gets better and we get to know more about the world and the characters in it.

Loved it

Oh my gosh I loved this book! I never knew what to expect from certain characters and the story line was excellent. The narrator was perfect for this book!

Great Start of Series

Overall this was a great start of series with likable characters and and interesting storyline. It reads more like a college Academy then high school in my opinion. Im not a fan of insta love it did not overtake the story so I could deal with it. However the over use of the lead females made up curse word was seriously annoying. The narrator had on point pacing and was wonderful at bringing the story to life.

A quick, fun read with potential

A quick, fun read but needs a little attention to really reach its potential. I loved the premise of modern NYC with its whole hidden layer of paranormal action, slayers and dragons. Noelle was adorable and bubbly and I enjoyed each of the guys distinctly different personalities. I did have trouble connecting with Brooklyn and felt the characters in general were two-dimensional and underdeveloped. I’d have liked the writing to focus more on character development and emotional details rather than benign ones such as clothing designs and signs of status. Overall, the story holds promise and left me wanting more. As for the narration, it was good but also had room for improvement. I felt the narrator did a good job with the technical aspects but didn’t bring as much emotional inflection or range. She enunciated well and the voice for Brooklyn fit but the male voices weren’t as I imagined (i.e. Manny is softie but his voice was gruff, Bronx is flirty but he sounded deep and coarse). I look forward to the second book and seeing if these things improve.
