Publisher's Summary

The devastating conclusion to "The Mercian Trilogy", as the vampire's destiny is finally revealed. 'I am pestilence and plague, war and turmoil. I am what you fear when the night is dark, I am the shiver you feel in your spine when you least expect it. I am the dreams from which you awake full of dread. I am the dreams from which one day you fear you will never wake at all.'
The sorcerer Wyndham is set to destroy Will before he can achieve his destiny, but the bigger challenge facing the vampire Earl of Mercia is finding a way through the maze of prophecies laid down for him, to a future that is good. As the barriers to the underworld fall around him, only one thing is clear - the choices will not be easy for Will, or for Eloise, in a battle that not everyone can survive, as destiny collides with a sorcerer's dark arts.
K J Wignall is the author of five novels for adults and a number of acclaimed short stories (as Kevin Wignall). He's been nominated for an Edgar in the US and for the CWA Short Story Dagger in the UK. All his work has attracted film interest and two of his novels are currently being developed in Hollywood.

Heartbroken!! This is the last of the series!!

I loved this series...the book - the story - the writing and especially the narrator who was the same throughout.
Couldn't wait to get to the car to listen.
Highly recommend this series - keeps you guessing till the end!
I am so sad for this to end and will have a hard time finding something that will measure up!!

A brilliant conclusion to a brilliant trilogy

If you could sum up Death in three words, what would they be?

Powerful and thought-provoking

What was one of the most memorable moments of Death?

The hero's final confrontation with someone who betrayed him.

Have you listened to any of Carl Prekopp’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Carl read the other two books in the trilogy and his performance was amazing throughout all three.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but to give details would spoil the story.

Any additional comments?

This is an Author who, so far as I know hasn't had a lot of good press for this trilogy. I stumbled on them by accident. There are many other well known Authors of vampire fiction who could learn a lot from him.

Final act of great trilogy

I think it's a shame that this trilogy hasn't had more publicity. It's so much more interesting that Twiglet and more intelligent that lots of other YA fiction I've read. Will is always sympathetic and interesting and I loved how the story played out. Lots of surprises and red herrings but a satisfying conclusion.

Carl Prekopp does an excellent job. I like his use of accents and he convincingly portrays adults, young people, men and women.
