Publisher's summary

After staking out, obtaining, and then being forced to give up her first boyfriend, Josh, all Cammie Morgan wants is a peaceful semester. But that's easier said than done when you're a CIA legacy and go to the premier school in the world...for spies.

Cammie may have a genius I.Q., but there are still a lot of things she doesn't know. Like, will her ex-boyfriend even remember she exists? And how much trouble is she really in after what happened last semester? And most of all, why is her mother acting so strangely?

Despite Cammie's best intentions to be a normal student, danger seems to follow her. She and her friends learn that their school is going to play host to some mysterious guests - code name: Blackthorne. Then she's blamed for a security breach that leaves the school's top secret status at risk.

Soon Cammie and her friends are crawling through walls and surveilling the school to learn the truth about Blackthorne and clear Cammie's name. Even though they have confidence in their spy skills, this time the targets are tougher (and hotter), and the stakes for Cammie's heart - and her beloved school - are higher than ever.

Great Read

Started purchasing this series for my preteen boy before I realized this is a girls' series. As I purchased the books, someone had to read them, right? So, I did. As an adult, I love being able to listen and "escape" to an easier time of life. Good story line by Allie Carter and excellently performed (not read) by Renee Raudman.

More Fun Gallagher Action

The Gallagher Girl books are good, clean YA stories with teen girl protagonists attending an all-school for training to be spies. The characters are all more capable in at least one area than would be generally believable, but that is true for most YA series and does not detract as their insecurities, misunderstandings and emotions are right for the tween years. The expanding depth and maturity of the characters is in line with both the characters' aging and a growing awareness of the world typical of the age level. An enjoyable listen for those wanting strong heroines or fun spy stories.

The ending

I liked THE ENDING because it was so good and the plot of it was also really good.

Are you ready for the changes at spy school???

Prepped for everything except being herself, Cammie is on another adventure to perfect her spy craft and this time she gets some of the truth she has been needing for the past four years!

My daughter and I love these books and the second in this series was even better than the first! Definitely recommend!

Teenage girl spy novel

I first read this novel as a teenager and decided to listen to the series all the way through here on audible. I was definitely surprised at the things about this book that I had forgotten or were brought to life by listening to it rather than reading it.

Definitely a series that teenage girls and their friends could get together to listen to as a group.
