Teen Girl Finds Her Calling at Spy School
Created by Cindy Hogan is an adventurous YA novel that is well written, fast paced, and consistent throughout. The story focuses on 17-year-old Christy, who despite being in the FBI's witness protection program was tracked down and almost killed, so the FBI relocates her to Belgium. The majority of the story takes place here, inside a private spy school where most of its students started attending since they were 5 years old. Because of her brilliance and innate ability to know the right way to go, as well as when danger is near (I think of this as her 6th sense superpower), Christy quickly completes most of the curriculum and is assigned her first real mission.
I listened to the Audible version of this story narrated by Laci Morgan who did an outstanding job. Laci portrayed Christy as a very likeable young lady surrounded by unbelievable events. Laci had great intonation and pace, keeping the story suspenseful throughout. She had differing voices for male and female characters, and expressed urgency when appropriate. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book!
Created is the third book in the Watched series. Although this is a stand alone, I think you'd have a better understanding of what's going on if you read or listened to Protected first (I still have not read the first book and it was very easy to understand the story line starting with book #2). Despite receiving a copy of this book in exchange for a review, I loved this book so much I listened to all 9 1/2 hours in only two days. Highly recommended!
Hold on tight! They just keep getting better
