Publisher's summary

In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace---until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He's kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants---the living and the undead.

Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?

Great for Teens

Would you consider the audio edition of Carpe Corpus to be better than the print version?

I like to preview my girls will be reading. This one is definitely teen focused, my 11-year old isn't ready for some of the teen to college drama. Not a bad series and I have really fallen in love with the characters.

Feels like it...

should have been the second half of book 5. It is a filler, but despite that it is still entertaining and the newer characters are developing into important parts of the inner circle. Pick it up!

Enjoyed every minute

I enjoyed every minute of this YA vampire thriller. The continuing plot unfolded with tension and a few twists. I loved the character development throughout the story. Only a few books near the beginning of the series are cliffhangers. The rest have had a proper ending. The stories in the series build on each other, so they are best enjoyed in order. I highly recommend this series. These books are addictive!

Good story

I really enjoyed the balance of conflict and resolution. It was intense; I was in the edge of my seat. Claire and the vampires had to figure out how to overcome Amelie’s father so he would destroy their town.

Unfortunately, there are some bad words and sex in the book. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone under 16

Carpe Corpus, Book #6.

The rules that held the co-existance of humans and vampires was shredded to pieces when the ancient vampire, Bishop, took over the college town of Morganville.

In his attempt to use the powers granted by the book that houses the lost secrets of vampires, Bishop is in a mission to just destroy everything and everyone.

Under Bishop's new regime, some vampires are pledging allegiance to him, while others are planning a revolution.

Claire turns 17 finally, but her birthday is not what she had imagined. And, she is being controlled by Bishop.

Will the "good vampires" take back control? Who will be sacrificed? Will Bishop destroy it all? Find out as Cynthia Holloway brings this book to life.

Going Back A Second Time!

I am rereading this book series. I'm a little older then before so I think I am able to enjoy and understand them more.

The performance by the narrator is great and I am able to connect with her.
Later on in the series the narrator changes which is something you have to get used to because the interpretations of the characters are very different.

This is one of the best series that I have read and am looking for more books that can compare in interest and the ability to keep you interested.

I would definitely recommend.

Voice actor could be better.

All the characters have started to sound alike. there's no real difference between between many of them. it makes it hard to keep track of who's speaking.
