Publisher's summary

It's Chrismastime, and Blair and Serena are best friends again and up to their old tricks: partying hard and breaking hearts from Park Avenue to the Caribbean. Blair's mom and Cyrus are having their honeymoon in Salt Key. And when school lets out for the holiday, Blair, Serena, Aaron, and company head down there to blow off steam after their midterm exams.

In between pina coladas and topless sunbathing, Blair and Serena plot revenge on super jerk Chuck Bass. Everyone jets back to NYC for Serena's New Year's party, during which Nate and Blair may or may not finally go all the way, and Serena may or may not be discovered to be the secret fling of Hollywood's hottest young leading man.

Critic reviews

"The book has the effect of gossip itself: once you enter, it's hard to extract yourself." (Publisher's Weekly)

Barely listenable

This narrator is terrible. I lost count of the number of words she mispronounced (Tribeca rhymed with paprika), and her voices made all of the characters seem dim and unlikeable. I liked the first to GG stories, but this narrator ruined the series for me. Run away from this one!

Story Great, Narrator HORRIBLE

The narrator of this story is absolutely, positively AWFUL. I couldn't wait to get to the end of the story just so I wouldn't have to listen to her butcher it anymore!

the voices are just ridiculous

I guess Edwina Wren is a very cool person cause she doesn’t mind one bit making a fool out of herself, all the voices she makes (yes, there is a voice for each character) are just ridiculous, like embarrassing, I am glad I wore headphones the whole time because I would have felt really silly if someone heard me listening to that )

The voice when there is no conversation going on is actually really good, but there is a lot of conversations in the book

Not appropriate

As a librarian, I thought I would try out this audiobook aimed at the 12 - 15 age group. I was very disappointed. Even though it is difficult for me to view this from a "tween" perspective it is easy to say as a children's librarian that this is not well done nor age appropriate for the intended audience. Words are frequently mispronounced by the reader and accents are not consistent. In addition, the topics include casual sex, language, light usage of drugs and alcohol by underage students. I was disappointed. The author appeared to believe that by dropping expensive labels the book would be readable. The author was wrong and the writing was not enhanced by the reading.
