Re-experience the magic

I was a precocious reader and wished to re-experience some of my fond childhood places. I found it every bit as charming as I did the first time so many years ago. Still entertaining and still enlightening.

A brilliant story superbly told!

Madeleine L'Engle always inspires me. She brings together science fiction, theology and philosophy in vivid fictional narrative. I have returned to this book often and it never disappoints!

Good for those who liked the first

the story is not as challenging, and the performance a bit mannered, but both are charming and worthwhile.

Disappointed, and just couldn't finish it.

As a huge fan of A Wrinkle in Time, I was so disappointed in A Swiftly Tilting Planet. It was weird, and kept following other characters, when all I wanted was a true adventure with Charles Wallace. I kept listening for much longer than I should have, and once I realised that no-one was forcing me to listen and that I just didn't care how it ended, I turned it off and have no desire to finish it (1hr 30mins left on it). I won't be getting anything else by this author. I'm calling Wrinkle a one-hit wonder.
