Publisher's summary

Since she can remember, Katarina's relatives have been grooming her for the family business - thieving. But when Kat tries to go straight and leave the "Life" for a normal life, she's promptly kicked out of her new school for stealing the headmaster's car and mounting it on the school fountain. Although she could have done it without breaking a sweat, ironically, this time, she's innocent.

In fact, she was framed - by another highly skilled thief. Her friend and brother-in-trade Hale, with his mischievous smile and limitless bank account, has appeared out of nowhere to bring her back to the Life, back to the family Kat tried so hard to escape.

Hale has a good reason: A powerful mobster has just been robbed of his priceless art collection, and he wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have cracked this vault, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he IS the list.

Now, caught between Interpol and a far more deadly predator, Kat's dad needs her help. For Kat, a consummate thief in her own right, the solution is simple: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and maybe just enough misguided pride to pull off the biggest heist in history - or at least in her family's (very crooked) history.

Need headphones to listen clearly. Very quiet sounding.

The story was interesting, at least what I could hear. I didn’t always have headphones accessible to turn up the volume. It didn’t seem like the narrator read quietly it’s almost like the sound was just turned down.

I enjoyed listening to Heist Society.

Heist Society is different from most stories. Most kids don't grow up in a family of thieves and try to have a real life. While some of it was a bit unbelievable, it is a good story.

Fun book for students

Where does Heist Society rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The audio was great. The characters were fun to follow throughout the story. I got this book for my jr. high daughter. She really liked the action of the book. A great introduction to heist storylines for her.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hale because throwing in a billionaire kid always makes for exciting growth.

Which scene was your favorite?

The opening scene imagining the Porche on top of a water fountain!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Heist Society, never underestimate a school girl

Any additional comments?

Lots of great classroom lesson plans with this book. It should be on more teachers reading lists

Masterful narrator; regrettable story

This is an unlikely story with cliche characters, cheesy fictional elements, an unrealistic plot, and a predictable ending. But what more can we expect from YA literature? I only finished the story so I could spend more time with the narrator, whose grasp of voices and accents was masterful.

I loved it!

Would you listen to Heist Society again? Why?

Yes. The story has action and investigation. Is funny and adorable. Isn't a policial story, but is great. I love.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Heist Society?

The scene on the Museum. When Kat and her group are catch. The way they scape was genial.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I don't know how compare. I'm low vision, so I hardly read books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

NO. I love the story and this is all. No more coments.

Any additional comments?

The story is wonderfull. The characters are funny and scared in the same time. A mix of suspense and comedy and investigation... To finish, is a good story.
