Liked the story but the narrative was poor

Would you listen to Promise Not to Tell again? Why?

The story line was good but the narrative was very poor. The narrator was monotone with not inflection in her tone. Hard to distinguish between male and female characters.

Good story

Narrator droned a bit. I put the reading speed up to x1.5 which actually helped.
Good story. Liked the characters. Main characters were both a bit damaged, but it did not hurt the flow of the story. A good continuation of a story that began in 'When all the girls have gone'. Different main characters for each book of the trilogy but a mystery that unfolds thru the series.

Pretty Good 👍

I have listened to the book twice. I enjoyed it both times. I failed to understand why there were 75 chapters. They were distracting in the continuity of the plot's progress. Bennett was equal to the task of narrator. I am truly a Krentz fan, just don't know if I can adjust to the quirky format in this book.

Excellent story mediocre narrator

Great story but the narrator was only fair. I had no trouble finishing it, but a better narrator would have made this a 5 star review

Promise Not to Tell

Wonderful book. Engaging drone the first line. Lots of twists and turns with plenty of romance thrown in. Loved the characters.

The book had a strange beginning until you started getting into the book. Very interesting book.

sprinkled with suspense, insight & mystery

Seattle is the scene of densely woven tapestry of clues memories and murder. Pain and fear from the past flare from hidden embers of a terrible night two decades ago. The young survivors chase down clues left by their mothers' last ditch efforts to protect them.

Can't put it down!

I love Jayne Ann Krentz.Listening is so much better than reading these days. Bad eyes.

Another fine story

This book is fast paced, intriguing, and definitely worth my money. I have been a fan of Krentz for a long time, in all her genres. This book does not disappoint. Cabot and Victoria were both rescued from a cult when they were children when the cult leader set a fire that killed their mothers and others. Now as adults, they meet to investigate whether one of the last old survivors of the erstwhile cult was murdered or committed suicide. I definitely didn’t see some of the twists coming. This is the second of a series of connected books, and the last chapter sets up the next one, but not in an annoying way. I am looking forward to the next book, and I know I will reread the whole series again in the future.

Great story and LOVE this narrator!

Krentz's books are comfort reads (listens) for me. I always enjoy them. This book was one of her best lately. And I really love this narrator. She did both male and female voices well, and had distinct voices for each character. This isn't always true for this author's books. I'll be looking for other books by this narrator.
