Character Narration Doesn't Work

You can't have an older person narrate the voices of younger people. It doesn't work. I couldn't make it through the first chapter.

SPOILER ALERT..!! Read Them In Order

Why in the world the author chose to completely disclose the entire synopsis and solution to her previous book throughout this one is beyond me..
Not everyone reads the first book in the series before finding one that just catches their eye.. then,.. if Good they’ll usually back up and start from the beginning and go in order.. It was incredibly disappointing that she didn’t stop to think she might be shooting herself in the foot for future sales..
Bummer....sigh...

Posh Party for the Pompous in Peridale

The second in the Peridale Café series is just as much fun as the first one. Julia South, owner of the café, has been invited to her father’s posh Garden Party, and is SO dreading it. Her father and his young rich wife, Katie Wellington, have some BIG announcement to make. Fearing that they may be having a baby (at his age!), Julia and her young friend, Jessie, (not long off the streets) go to the party together. When Katie’s brother coming crashing out of a second story window to his death, following a fight with his sister, the celebration comes to a halt. Julia and her neighbor, Detective Barker Brown both start to investigate the matter . . . finding that there’s more than what appears on the surface. This series is clean, interesting and I did not figure out who the murder was. I am liking the characters more and more. Jessie, the young girl from the streets, and newest café employee is one of my favorites. Spunky, compassionate and curious Julia is also the cat’s meow 😊.
