Thank you Bill Walsh

I don't watch the NFL or any professional sports, and I don't know Bill Walsh from Moses, but the title of this audiobook resonated with me so I took a chance. I'm glad I did.

There is so much good stuff here. Lots of stories, mostly about football but metaphors for business and life as well.

Bill Walsh, the legendary coach of the San Francisco 49ers, reveals a mix of intelligence, toughness, humility and empathy in his anecdotes. He shares his successes but is also honest about his failings. It's really remarkable.

Having listened to this audiobook right to the end, I have a deep sense of respect for this man. If he was still alive I would want to thank him in person for the great insights he shared. But since I can't, I'll say it here: thanks Bill!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS BOOK IS HERE FOR 1 CREDIT!

Anyone who has had a dream of coaching anything has been told: “Get this book, but you’ll never find it and if you do you’ll never be able to afford it.” How true all of that is. It’s a $400 book give or take and I’m kicking myself for not checking the first day on audible.
That said, it is everything I could have hoped for and more. This may sound over dramatic, but it would be on the shelf next to Sun Tsu’s Art of War. Amazing! I’d recommend it to anybody. Not just coaches. It is stacked with life lessons and I’ll be listening to it MANY times. Great narration too.

Great book about leadership

If you're one that wanted to know what the greatest football coach of all time had to go through to achieve greatness. It wasn't always that way.

Great book also if you're a 49er fan.

Be ready to grow

Fantastic book for leaders who want to get the most out of their business or organization. Be ready to look in a very clear mirror of a leader's responsibilities and correcting those as much as the organization as a whole.

Bill Walsh's standard of performance!

As a fan of 1980s NFL football, I've longed for some kind of an explanation as to how in the world the 1987 Minnesota Vikings so easily dismantled the mighty 49ers. I finally got my answer here in this book "The Score Takes Care of Itself". This nugget and many more will be yours of you choose to dig into Bill Walsh's thesis on his "Standard of Performance".

The actual book on Bill Walsh that I was looking for goes for over $300.00 on ebay. You'll be happy to know this one still satisfies, until you strike it rich and can afford to dump three hundred bucks on a sports book.

The best of the sports leadership books!

This well put together book captures the essence of Bill and his fantastic vision for both football and life. I have read a plethora of sports leadership books and this ranks at the top, right next to John Wooden.

Insight into One of the Great Coached

Good insight to what many consider, the greatest NFL coach. Practical thought on how to structure an organization and lead people. Some really good nuggets sprinkled throughout the story. The narrator was spot on, and made it sound as if it were Bill, himself.

Perspective on Bill Walsh legacy.

Excellent read. Learned a lot about the man and a dynasty. I am a Cowboy fan but respected the Niners and Coach Walsh.
