Publisher's summary

Just because you know the rules and have had a blast playing pickleball since the day you learned, doesn't necessarily mean that you're playing as well as you could be. Players of every age and ability can learn to play better and win more when they start to apply the principles of Smart Pickleball™.

In this book, Prem Carnot, the pickleball guru, takes you on an entertaining journey full of colorful characters and astonishingly familiar scenarios as he teaches one of his highly-renowned, frequently sold-out Pickleball Guru Academy clinics and a number of private lessons.

With drills and a captivating allegorical style, The Pickleball Guru uses case studies and personal examples to teach you the difference between just "getting the ball over the net" and playing smart. This book is a pause-resister and will have you eager to get back out on the courts to practice what you learned.

I've listened to this book about 5 times now!

I love it. It's clear and concise. I've been able to incorporate most of the information helping to improve my game. I hope to one day meet the authors.

higgy

I believe if I can work on what prem teaches instead of going back to old ways, then improvement will happen. Thanks for writing this book.

Don’t waste the time on this one!

I too much self promotion, which is annoying, especially in the midst of practical information. I wish I could return this title as I will never listen to it again!

Not worth a purchase. Could have been an email.

Writing this book apparently was an exercise in the “guru” author stroking his own ego. Admittedly though his wife wrote it? That’s what he says in the book. Chapters are peppered with quotes the author reads of his student praising him. The first five chapters are wind up talking about what he’s gonna talk about.

There are obvious nuggets in there that qualify as “smart pickleball” advice-obvious stuff YouTube videos all say. But it’s not worth the time suffering through the author stroking his own ego.

Self promotion 75% and actual good information 25 %

This is an extremely disappointing book. The author spends so much time talking about himself, his wife, his students, the format of his clinics, what his students said, his clever retorts......nauseating. We were really excited for knowledge of pickleball, how to hit shots, strategies, etc... Definitely not a good use of $.
