Publisher's Summary

The popular and highly respected horse trainer Mark Rashid brings together Western and Eastern philosophies to demonstrate a seamless new incarnation of horse training. After years of helping "difficult" horses, Mark Rashid understands how to build the foundation of a horse's training and resolve any problems encountered along the way. He explains how he allows the traditionally firm or assertive approach of the old Western style to take some lessons from the softer conflict resolution and ego reduction approach that the Japanese martial art of aikido teaches. Rashid's ultimate goal is harmony between horse and rider.

Nature in Horsemanship

Loved it so much that I'm disappointed that it was done. such a great perspective and such a blessing that Mark Rashid shared his treasured experience once again. At least should be read by every person who owns or loves a horse.

Different then other a Mark Rashid books

Very different from the first three Mark Rashid books I read. This was interesting, but I was more anxious to get through it so I could move on to the next book than really wanting to finish it. Very true to description, lots and lots about the Akita(?). No mention of the old man or the lessons he learned from him.

All horse folk should listen to this one

beautifully read and a truly wonderful work. Many "Aha!" moments and much common sense. I like how Mark Rashid thinks and I think all of our horses could benefit if we all pondered Nature and their world from time to time, rather than just assuming ours is the only way. Loved listening and learning. Highly recommended!
