Publisher's Summary

You Are a Badass is the self-help audiobook for people who desperately want to improve their lives but don't want to get busted doing it.
In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, best-selling author and world-travelling success coach Jen Sincero serves up 27 bite-size chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word, helping you to:

Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviours that stop you from getting what you want.
Create a life you totally love. And create it now.
Make some damn money already. The kind you've never made before.

By the end of You Are a Badass, you'll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can't change, how to change what you don't love and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.

Super basic

Important: 1. If you've already read/listened some books about self-help, this is not for you. This is super basic, and you'll be wasting your money/credits on this.
2. If you don't like this california "gal" way of speaking ("you knoooow?", "I mean, likeeee", "So I was like ahhh, and he was likeee yuck") don't waste your money/credits on this.
The combination of these two things made it a really bad experience for me. Still, I made it through to give a complete review: may work for you if this is your first contact with self-help, maybe if it's the second, after "The monk who sold his Ferrari" and other super basic stuff. It is topical, almost childish, "Universe will give you what you want" kind of thing. If you're into that, go ahead. If not, run.

Think I've heard all this before....

This is pretty much lessons from many other self help books. If you've read the secret, the chimp paradox or the happiness advantage don't bother with this. If you've not read them, buy them instead!

American Clap Trap

Sorry I didn't like this book and whether I judged it harshly I don't know but I only listened to the first 3 chapters and that was enough the narrators voice is irritating to say the least and the story is full of Americanisms it isn't believable and it didn't help me unlike other self help books I've read .
I don't know why it has such good reviews and only bought it on the strength of that.

Blew Me Away

Thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who is striving to be all they can be.
Loved it so much, that I have just purchased 2 hard copies - one for myself and I know the universe will bring along someone who also needs to read it.
2017 is going to be an amazing year !!!
Now off to listen to it again 🙌🏽

Nothing new

I'm guessing this book might be enjoyed by those in their early 20s. For me it was a bit of fun but really nothing new at all. I've heard pretty much most of the advice elsewhere. Also it seems to just be all thrown in together. No practical explanation on how to implement it... unless she does so at the very end. To be honest I didn't make it to the last couple of chapters. Lost interest. Jen does narrate well though if you are into her style of writing.
