Publisher's summary

In his first book, mindbodygreen founder Jason Wachob redefines successful living and offers listeners a new life currency to build on - one that is steeped in well-being: Wellth.

"Many of us aren't satisfied with just trying to accumulate the most money and toys. The good life is no longer just about the material; instead it can be found in a lifestyle that is devoted to mental, physical, and emotional health. A wellthy existence is one in which happiness is attainable, health is paramount, and daily living is about abundance. It's a life in which work is purposeful; friendships are deep and plentiful; and there's a daily sense of richness or overflowing joy. But since there's no one-size-fits all definition of a wellthy existence, I hope this book will serve as a guide to help you embark on your own personal journey that is both unique and meaningful."

Eat. Move. Work. Believe. Explore. Breathe. Connect. Love. Heal. Thank. Ground. Live. Laugh.

These are the building blocks of Wellth...and in this blend of memoir and prescriptive advice, Jason Wachob shows us all how to enjoy truly "wellthy" lives - lives that are deeply rich in every conceivable way. Through his experience and personal story, as well as in exclusive material from popular expert contributors (including Dr. Frank Lipman, Dr. Lissa Rankin, Joe Cross, Charlie Knoles, Kathryn Budig, Dr. Aviva Romm, and Dr. Sue Johnson), we learn how we, too, can embrace this new movement and develop richer, fuller, happier, healthier, and more meaningful lives. What will make your life more wellthy? Come and explore it.

not compelling or relatable

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Ivy League/Wall Street guys have a leg up others do not have. His struggle wasn't close to what the average person experiences trying to make a living. He always had resources, connections & fall back. MBG is full of celebrity worship & questionable health science. Wellth is not going to work for many.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jason Wachob? Why or why not?

Heard everything he had to offer. Another book would be more of the same.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Not a good reader. Emphasizes wrong words. Swallows too many words/end of thoughts. Low energy. Smugness creeps in.

Do you think Wellth needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

NO.

I really, really, really wanted to like this book

Any additional comments?

I bet this guy has some awesome ideas, some really good insight into living a meaningful life....I just bet he does. But, I'll never know because his delivery was SO BAD - SO EXQUISITELY BAD - that I gave up after chapter two.

He sounds bored to death by his story. Bored. To. Death. It was, literally, painful to listen to. What a shame.

Nothing special

Typical self help book, nothing particularly novel. Speaker has kind of monotone voice, so if you're going to be doing other things (driving, laundry, etc.) while listening, it's very easy to lose focus and zone out of the book, then you have to rewind. Seems like much of the book was just the author paraphrasing other people's famous quotes.

Good information on health topics

Not really Alot of information that hasn't already been heard but I did appreciate the authors personal perspective.

So many other inspirational choices, not this one!

Would you try another book from Jason Wachob and/or Jason Wachob?

No

What could Jason Wachob have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Cut out about 100 or so of the quotes that he inserted.

How could the performance have been better?

He should never have been the reader of his own work. No enthusiasm.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Maybe the parts about meditation . . . but I say that only because you asked to find some redeeming quality

Any additional comments?

It's been awhile since I haven't finished a book, this one I left 3 hours in.

Uninspiring, lots of repeated quotes, nothing actionable

I was excited for the book based on the title but very disappointed to spend my time reading it. It was a cross between feeling like I was a therapist just listening to the author tell me his life stories (Jobs that did or didn’t work out, nothing new) and just repeating other peoples motivation quotes. There was nothing that I could take an action upon it. No real steps to change; nothing new. Disappointed. Also the voice used for the audio version will put you to sleep - it’s like he could barely muster the energy to say the words loud and clear (most of en voice is cracking/breaking from no effort or enthusiasm being put into it).

👎

This book is like if a bunch of Instagram “inspirational posts” were made into a book for rich white people.

Painful to listen to

This might have had some great information but I couldn't get past the dull delivery.

Wellth, a recipe of simple truths

We found this book thought provoking. The stories had a sound impact. The author's end game is a simple recipe for a well balanced life. The stories at the end tugged at my heart and provoked action. I will read this again to glean more life lessons and add them to my balanced lifestyle.
